Job Description:The Principal Project Manager is part of the Strategic Programs & Services (“SPS”) EMEA team within Professional Services, Consulting & Support. In this role you will support everything from several small to medium projects to very complex large programs delivering enterprise software to our airline and agency customers in Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe. You will make decisions that have impact on success of project team, department, work group, and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Manages projects / programs from initiation through delivery till closure
- Manages through governance structures, creating detailed program level plans that provide guidance to projects where detailed project level plans are established
- Alignment and adherence to standards and direction set by Sabre
- Supervises and/or develops and manages communication plan to include content, frequency, audience and channels
- Conducts all project management functions
- Develops and maintains relationships with key internal Sabre business units, ensures program and projects are moving forward and that they are following the Sabre standards
- Advises senior management and executives of program / project and customer status
- Works with customers face-to-face on a regular basis and manages customer relationships at senior manager and executive level
- Provides early warnings and quality assurance
- Facilitates program and project level issues and change management resolution
- Executes and reports on schedules, budget and expenses, risks and issues
- Organizes the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the program / project / product on schedule and within budget constraints
- Manages the Change Request process and the supports the sale of additional Services offerings
- Works closely with the Sabre Services Executives and the Account team in supporting Sabre’s strategy with key customers in the region
- Supports Business Operations, Service Experience (PMO) team by developing / improving processes, documentation, project management playbooks, lessons learned, etc.
- Actively participates in global Professional Services, Consulting & Support initiatives
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- PMP or equivalent certification in program and project management methodology
- Minimum 8 years program and/or project management experience managing software system implementations
- Possesses and applies expert knowledge of project management principles, practices and procedures to the completion of assignments
- Excellent analytical skills, is detail-oriented and interacts well with others
- Operational savvy
- Has fluent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Russian languages. Any other languages are additional advantage
- Intimate knowledge with delivery methods and standards
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Fully proficient in MS Project
- Must be able to interface appropriately at program and project team level
- Good track record in customer facing role and communication
- Understands the concepts, definitions and application of project reports
- Possesses an understanding of quality assurance concepts
- Experience working in a matrix organization and supporting virtual distributed teams
- Airline / Travel agency distribution domain expertise preferred
- Experience in management consulting, working for a software vendor and/or in the travel industry preferred
- Ability to travel up to 50%-60% (depending on assignment)
