Аmerican biotechnology company Seattle Genetics is seeking a Director to lead the program management office (PMO) within the real estate & facilities (REF).
Principal Responsibilities
Establish the PMO role and operating model (e.g centralized or decentralized, areas of focus)
Set standards for project management capabilities, including certifications and qualifications for Project Managers, success measurement criteria, methodologies, tools to be used, etc.
Create a ‘Center of Excellence’ to nurture project management practitioners and share knowledge of industry best practices
Serves as a core member of the COE team and coordinates activities and deliverables
Provide high level program management direction and support to the project delivery team
Represent Seattle Genetics to external entities and establish commercial relationships while assuring compliance with contract conditions and relevant standards
Maintains consistency among the project teams’ commercial management and delivery processes and ensures the client’s expectations and requirements are integrated into the program’s commercial processes
Provides detailed project status reviews and recommendations to the Seattle Genetics leadership team, including VP Real Estate & Facilities and Capital Review Board by preparing budgets, forecasts, comprehensive financial analysis, and other commercial data studies as necessary
Management of the Capital Portfolio with Real Estate, Facilities, Technical Operations, Manufacturing, and Executive Teams
Complies with federal laws, state laws, industry best practices and norms
Project Management Team Leadership
Actively manage commercial risk by working closely with the Stakeholders, Project Sponsors, Legal, and Procurement to enhance processes and procedures
Develops and manages client relationships at the highest level, as appropriate, including management of expectations, communications, negotiations, escalation, feedback
Set annual performance targets for individuals and the team and conduct performance reviews
Partner with cross-functional department leads to facilitate the development of actionable work plans and resource allocations across projects
Direct technical, business, management, and support services for quality, program control, construction, design, and environmental health and safety
Ensures project teams are staffed effectively to support the execution of projects and optimize capacity utilization
Experience leading, optimizing and inspiring a diverse team
Mentors and coaches project team members
Project Tracking and Monitoring
Track and provide project status and audit reports
Manage the risk, issue and change resolution process, and work with other leaders to take corrective action as needed
Oversee Project Managers for the delivery of projects/programs on time, within scope and on budget
Communicate with contractors and suppliers on outstanding issues
Develops and implements contractor audit processes and ensures cost, schedule and project execution performance continuously meets established benchmarks
Portfolio Execution
Interface with VP REF to define project priorities and implementation opportunities and challenges, and keep him up-to-date with project risks and opportunities
Provides guidance on all business activities to maintain quality standards, consistency and technical coordination and thus ensures continuous improvement of the delivery of program services
Drive and contribute to strategies and aligned execution
Customer service orientation
Develops and implements tools and processes to manage project risk, project estimates and costs, and resources and metrics
Communicates status of active client portfolio to senior management and executive team, in accordance to success KPIs related to milestones, deadlines, hours, margins, risk management, etc.
Monitor compliance with policies and standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction/Management, Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
Minimum 15 years experience and progressive experience with 7+ in management of technical staff within GxP environment – pharmaceutical, biotechnology or biologic industry
Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role. Team Leadership & Development: Ability to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others
Minimum of 5 years in a role requiring Facilitation, Negotiation & Problem Resolution Skills: Ability to build a strong network and relationships at executive levels with technology and solutions, customers and vendor groups
Demonstrates professional, high integrity, trustworthy and ethical behavior at all times
Advanced level of critical thinking, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
Authority to delegate and monitor work completion, timely and accurate, across teams
Domestic and International Professional work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Licensed/Registered Mechanical or Electrical, PE
Master’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Proficient use of Computer Maintenance Management Systems, CMMS
Experience in a Plant Facility Maintenance function
Demonstrated sound judgment and ability to make effective decisions independently with minimal escalation to or supervision from supervisor
Understanding of aspects for Commissioning and Qualification activities
Ability to influence and persuade cross functional groups
Transformational Leadership skill sets
In depth knowledge of FDA, EMA, GxP and ICH regulatory requirements
Experience with International Standards Boards and Global Regulatory
Build and Lead teams consisting of client(s), supplier(s) and geographically dispersed virtual teams
Progressive experience in Facilities Management
Certified Facilities Manager (CFM), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Facilities Management Professional (FMP)
Certified trainer or proven competency within area of expertise to drive awareness within Seattle Genetics
Additional accreditations or certification especially centered around sustainable design – i.e. Commissioning, LEED AP
Lead Member, Membership within External Industry Organization.
