Responsibilities
Lead the regions’ cross-functional efforts to establish a leadership position for Beckman Coulter in the EEMEA markets and targeted sub-segments.
Deliver the strategic direction and plans to meet financial commitments through a coordinated customer, segment, brand, category, and route-to-market strategy.
Negotiate, define, lead, and supervise, all appropriate marketing campaigns.
Working with Global and the BUs, establish a clear and consistent messaging framework for region, country, and channel partner activities.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Company’s and various BU’s business strategies to use the technology (platform) investments with the assets and capabilities of the region.
Tailor plans and strategies to diverse needs and conditions across EEMEA markets.
Deliver financial (revenue, margin, etc.) and market commitments by region, product, and customer segment on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Perfectly execute on new product launch excellence
Define and execute performance management processes and linking to Global/Corporate, BUs, and the corporation.
Set and supervise performance against established metrics. Drive the critical measurement and tracking activities including market size, market share, customer satisfaction, and return on investment, etc.
Provide robust customer requirements/input to the product development/NPI process of the BUs
Maintain competitors and market intelligence communication flows between the field team and the marketing groups (regions, platforms, etc.)
Lead marketing insights and analytics generation and incorporation into strategic plans
Drive the activities needed to build awareness and preference for Beckman Coulter offerings, and for the generation of the programs and leads to build the funnel, shorten the sales cycle, close business, and meet financial targets.
Own the strategy and execution of activities to increase loyalty of current customers, generating additional revenue opportunities, and selling in additional BEC Diagnostics products and solutions.
Develop and deliver on EEMEA region scientific marketing strategies
Ensure that the annual regional marketing plan is in line and achievable with the expected funding levels.
Establish processes to handle marketing funds allocation and track spending.
Collaborate with Global marketing to define the optimal marketing mix that will achieve the performance goals for the region and exploit regional cross-category opportunities.
Is a member of the leadership team. Partners extensively with the region’s functional leadership.
Provide broad-based business and marketing function leadership across the region, across the Company, and to the market.
Establish marketing and staffing priorities within the region, working with BU, Global, and region leadership.
The ideal candidate for the Director Marketing position will have:
Fifteen (15) plus years of Marketing, BU leadership or Regional Marketing experience including a minimum of 5 years of senior level leadership experience.
Prior hands-on Marketing Leadership experience with a Diagnostics or similar company in emerging and developed markets. Experience in instruments/capital equipment AND reagents a plus.
A consistent record of execution and achievement in Marketing or Market Development role.
Strong leadership and motivational capabilities to maintain team focus, and engagement, and followership.
The ability to influence, relate to, and connect with both front line employee (e.g., sales reps) and C-Level leadership with concise communication that will advance sales opportunities and satisfy customer requirements.
Outstanding analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
Ability to build positive relationships and collaborative partnerships with cross functional partners to execute on shared goals.
Ability to think strategically about business, structure, process and priorities.
Consistent track record to gain credibility through successful leadership in a matrix environment across a range of functions, positions and levels
Appreciation to understand customer decision factors and to digest, synthesize and share in-depth customer knowledge across the organization.
Ability to travel at least 50%, primarily international travel.
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Medical Technology or related field, MBA or other graduate degree preferred.
