Digital Marketing Director.
About The Role:
Reporting to the VP of Global Marketing, the Digital Director will be responsible for all Kerzner brands online advertising campaigns, all Kerzner websites, and will work closely with key departments to deliver the roadmap for digital transformation. This roadmap continues the journey of migrating offline process and experiences to online platforms, while supporting the wider Kerzner digital strategy.
The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of the digital ecosystem and be able to implement digital marketing strategies that result in increased sales.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Advertising:
- Be responsible for planning and rolling out 360 digital marketing campaigns including, but not limited to, search advertising, digital display (direct and programmatic), social advertising and Metasearch advertising, in line with the brand and resort’s commercial strategy
- Working with agencies for Digital media planning, buying, and determining the right digital media mix of a campaign while working within allocated budgets and timelines
- Monitor, measure, and report the effectiveness of each digital campaign to ensure a high ROI. Each campaign will need to be analysed and restructured based on findings and trends in the market
Website & App:
- Future-proof Kerzner’s digital platforms (websites and app) by continuously enhancing the guest user experience and end-to-end journey
- Provide direction and oversight for Kerzner’s digital platforms, by working closely with the Commercial and IT teams to manage existing and future development projects, as well as Sitecore upgrades
- Continuously evolve the digital platforms, to ensure Kerzner stays ahead of the curve and is optimized for success
- Be responsible for the overall SEO campaign strategy and agency management. Work closely with SEO agency to refine keyword search lists, keyword to page mapping, traffic analysis and reporting, management of backlink profile, implementing SEO page optimisations through Sitecore CMS system and optimise pages for SEO in language
- Continually monitor and evaluate platform performance, proposing and implementing test & learn initiatives to improve performance
- Plan strategies to personalise website content through Sitecore’s Experience Platform to ensure we are delivering the right message to the right audience at the right time, to increase conversion on site
- Be responsible for all Kerzner translation websites, where relevant
- Work with resorts to ensure their sites are regularly audited
Reporting:
- Work closely with the Global Business Analytics team to measure and report performance of all digital marketing activities against agreed KPIs and make recommendations to stakeholders in-line with business objectives and priorities
- Use analytics and business intelligence tools for identification of trends which can then be leveraged by digital marketing activities
- Be able to use attribution modeling to understand the role of each channel in the purchasing process and be able to make recommendations as to where money should be spent to achieve the best ROI
- Be on top of the latest digital trends and technology such as Metaverse, Blockchain, NFTs etc. and formulate plans and strategies as to how they can be incorporated into the digital strategy to drive profitability
Commercial Marketing budgets:
- Own and manage the annual corporate and joint digital marketing budgets
- Oversee digital budget timelines or critical paths as required
- Ensure digital marketing budget pace is monitored and each year concludes on- or under-budget as required
- Code and track all digital marketing invoices for finance
Agency and vendor management:
- Build a network (internal and external) of agencies, vendors, partners, and colleagues, to provide day-to-day support for the execution of digital marketing initiatives, to deliver projects efficiently and to a high standard, on-time and on-budget
- Continually audit new and existing vendors so that all properties and teams have access to approved agencies and other resources for the implementation of Marketing initiatives
- Conduct audits, in partnership with procurement teams as required, to ensure all vendors and agencies continue to deliver the best value to the brand in terms of maximum quality vs. justifiable cost
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements:
- Experience in paid advertising and SEO activities
- Experience in digital media marketing campaigns
- Experience in websites and additional digital platforms such as mobile applications and development
- Experience in organic and paid social media
- Ability to work with multiple agencies across multiple disciplines
- Experience in omnichannel campaigns
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent oral and written skills in English is an absolute must. Additional language skills in either French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, or Arabic are useful but not essential
- Must be technically savvy-minded but with creative marketing flair
- Experience of website CMS systems – Sitecore experience would be beneficial
- Experience of Salesforce Marketing Cloud would be beneficial
- Understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
- Experience working across various analytics and/or Business Intelligence tools
- Google certifications an advantage
- Photoshop skills an advantage
- Strong technical computer skills - Microsoft Office
- Good presentation skills using PowerPoint or Keynote
- Strong organisational skills
- Good communication skills at all levels
- A self-motivated, strong team player with the ability to work and adapt under pressure
- Independent, good people skills
