Overview:
The Head of Marketing & PR is responsible for developing and executing strategies that create and uphold a positive public image of the school. By working and forming relationships with various members of the media, government, and public, the Head of Marketing & PR should also generate new business opportunities.
The Head of Marketing & PR is required to oversee the marketing and communications department of the school. In this case, the Head of Marketing & PR should act as the businesses’ representative during all events and oversees all external communications activities. Further responsibility includes researching public opinion and communicating with investors to enhance the businesses’ reputation in the financial community. The Head of Marketing & PR will supervise, and line manage the departments staff, including marketing, advertising, support staff and communications. Other duties may include informing the Executive Committee on market trends, calculating communications budgets, and preparing speeches.
Core Purpose:
To successfully lead the marketing team at Brookes Russia, implementing the schools’ strategic aims and ultimately raising the brand profile and enrolment of the schools in Russia.
Responsibilities will include, but are not exhausted to:
Responsible for creating, implementing, and measuring the success of:
- A comprehensive marketing and public relations strategic plan that will enhance Brookes Russia’s image and position within the marketplace and the public communications
- All Brookes Russia’s marketing and public relations activities and materials including publications, media relations, client acquisition and so forth
- Ensure articulation of Brookes Russia’s desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position throughout the Brookes Russia, and assure communication of image and position to all parties, both internal and external
- Responsible for editorial direction, design, production, and distribution of all Brookes Russia’s publications, in line with the Group and Directors directives
- Coordinate media interest in Brookes Russia and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests
- Act as Brookes Russia’s representative with the media
- Provide counsel to faculty on marketing and public relations
- Ensure that Brookes Russia regularly conducts relevant market research and coordinate and oversee this activity. Monitor trends
- Leads projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events
- Check and manage content produced for website and social media channels
- Plan, implement and budget PR events and initiatives
- Develop and implement crisis communications advice and media strategy, as needed
Planning and budgeting:
- Responsible for the achievement of marketing/public relations mission, goals, and enrolment objectives. Ensure that evaluation systems are in place related to these goals and objectives and report progress to the Director of Administration
- Develop short and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing/public relations program and its activities, monitor progress, assure adherence, and evaluate performance
- Recommend short and long-term Brookes Russia goals and objectives to the Director of Administration
- Develop, implement, and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing/public relations function
- Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing and public relations, not-for-profit management and governance, and the specific business of the Brookes Russia and use this information to help Brookes Russia operate with initiative and innovation
Managing:
- Maintain a climate that attracts, retains and motivates top quality personnel, in the department
- Recruit, train, appraise, supervise, support, develop, promote and guide qualified personnel
- Ensure effective management within the marketing and public relations function, with provision for succession
- Support cross-functional teams throughout Brookes Russia
Additional:
- Take an active role in the forthcoming CIS (Council of International Schools) Accreditation Process
- Determine KPIs for Marketing and PR department
- The Head of Marketing & PR will be required to carry out any reasonable additional tasks as required by the Director of School & Director of Administration
