About the role
In a newly-created role, you will play a vital part in shaping the future of Royal Collection Trust after a challenging year.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, and as a member of our Operations Board, you will help to develop a commercial strategy that supports all revenue streams and responds to the changing needs of the retail, cultural heritage and visitor attraction markets.
You will lead and inspire a creative and ambitious team covering a breadth of specialisms, including exhibitions, communications, marketing, ticketing, and development. Encouraging cross-functional collaboration, you will work with them to build the external reputation and public profile of Royal Collection Trust, to grow market share, and to cultivate new and sustainable audiences, both international and domestic.
Innovative and forward thinking, you will work to hone and shape our marketing and public engagement activities and harness the best of new technologies to expand our visitor engagement. You will also inspire progress across your team, sharing best practice and developing their skills alongside your future vision.
With creativity and a passion for digital technologies, you’ll also be at the forefront of our digital strategy, identifying opportunities and driving change across the organisation.
This is your opportunity to reshape the way we engage with the public and make an impact from day one. And, in an environment that’s constantly evolving, you’ll make sure we’re never left behind.
About you
An experienced communications professional, you will have a successful record of creating and implementing public engagement and communications strategies, ideally within an arts or heritage environment.
Commercially minded, with a focus on ROI and data-driven decision-making, you will have a track record of increasing audience share within a highly competitive environment.
With a wide portfolio of media contacts, you will be a natural networker, adept at cultivating and leading high-profile media partnerships.
You will have significant experience of running brand or product campaigns across a range of media, and have a strong working knowledge of integrated communications planning, including social media practice.
You’re imaginative and forward thinking, and you understand how the digital world works, enabling you to spot opportunities and help shape a digital culture.
Outstanding people skills and leadership qualities will be vital; you’ll be confident directing the work of a diverse team, and be able to motivate, encourage and develop others, as well as effectively managing change and performance.
A strategic thinker, with great business acumen, you’re in touch with the latest developments in best-practice commercial visitor operations and have a proven track record of developing and implementing strategic plans through multi-disciplinary teams.
A natural communicator with experience working at board level, you can develop trusting and influential relationships at all levels, quickly establishing credibility, and will be skilled in promoting a supportive and collaborative working culture.
Bringing a creative yet pragmatic approach, with an enthusiasm for new technologies, you will drive improvement and change in a busy environment, prioritising activity based on organisational need.
This is your opportunity to deliver the exceptional.
