Your Mission:
Company is looking for a VP Trust & Safety whose responsibility is to make the platform the safest place for members and to create a high level of trust across the member journey.
The VP Trust & Safety will be responsible for defining and delivering the fraud-fighting strategy, fighting against inappropriate behaviors on platform, leading crisis-response processes and building-up strong relationships with law enforcement agencies in various markets.
You will manage a 10-people team, currently composed of a Trust & Safety Senior Manager, and Incident, Fraud and Law-Enforcement managers and experts.
You will coordinate key resources and talents spanning the Product, Engineering, Community Relations and Legal teams to deliver on the Trust & Safety strategy. You will report to the Chief Communications Officer, who also manages the Community Relations (i.e. Customer Service) and Corporate Communications teams.
Your Responsibilities:
- Build the fraud-fighting strategy and the fraud-fighting budget (connected to local P&Ls), and track the impact of the measures taken
- Drive the fraud-fighting execution, coordinating resources from other key teams: Data Analysts, Product & Engineering teams to ensure inclusion of the needed resources in the Product roadmap & Community Relations to empower an efficient operational response
- Lead the Fraud Steering Committee including the CTO, CCO and relevant VPs and Senior Managers
- Manage the policies regulating the marketplace across different markets
- Build relationships with law enforcement, lead the fight against illegal activity (illegal transport, trafficking, etc.), and against inappropriate behaviors between members
- Manage and continue building the Trust & Safety team, currently composed of 10 employees
Your Qualifications:
- Expert (15+ years) in Trust & Safety, including extensive experience in fraud-fighting tools and fraud-fighting operational set-up
- Previous experience in fighting fraud at a C2C /marketplace platform
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to deep dive across technology, product or customer service challenges
- Experience in driving the operational side of fraud fighting including setting-up processes and teams, and leveraging technology to make those efficient
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills to align competencies from different teams and present the fraud strategy to the Executive Committee
- Business-driven mindset with the ability to build a financially sound plan, resonating with the business reality
- Fluency in English
- Previous experience in fraud-fighting in Russia would be a valuable plus
