About the team:
The Miro Core Product and Developer Platform teams are responsible for one of most crucial functions of the Miro product. These include the board server, product backend and its business logic, as well as the external developer’s platform allowing external integration into platform.
Customers count on company for collaboration services and smooth user experience on heavy collaborative sessions (with 500+ participants), so company strives constantly to provide the highest quality products, enhance collaboration capabilities, and provide the functionality to empower customers and help them become more efficient. Board server is one of the most complex products, considering the challenging performance requirements, and providing support for extremely powerful client applications to enable rendering of large amounts of elements for hundreds of users in real-time.
About the role:
As VP of Core Foundation Engineering, you will be accountable for the foundation of Miro’s core product, including engineering strategy and alignment with Miro’s overall product and engineering roadmap.
Building and scaling our engineering organization for supporting key components and foundations in the product, setting up engineering processes, and delivering high-quality outcomes with your org in a timely manner.
What you’ll do:
- Grow and develop Miro’s foundation engineering, the backend logic, client core, board server, developer’s platform and external integrations
- Develop, communicate, and execute the technical product strategy and roadmap for your organization
- Build and scale operational processes and contribute to the overall engineering practices
- Communicate strategy, tactics, and progress to the team and stakeholders
- Develop teams, talents, and leaders within your organization
What you’ll need:
- 12+ years industry experience, ~5+ yrs experience at Sr Dir+ level
- Preference to agile software product development companies, SaaS and B2C
- Experience building and leading multi-functional distributed engineering teams (100+ people), with preference to European markets
- Strong emphasis on senior operational and people management at scale, engineering excellence, productivity and execution
- Strong prioritization and project management skills and understanding of business impact for various solutions
- Result focused, data-driven engineering strategy development skills in a cross functional environment
- Good understanding of product requirements and ability to align with technical strategy
