Gemms is a B2B seed-stage fintech company, currently in stealth mode. The Head of Design role covers everything from brand to marketing and product design, focusing more on product in the first years. We are looking for someone who can cover a wide range of tasks while we are in the early stage, and then take a lead on hiring the team and splitting the workload efficiently.
Responsibilities
Lead product design
You will be responsible for developing design process, standards & style guide for product
You will be responsible for putting together all product designs based on the specs provided by the product team
You will be responsible for user testing, documentation of user feedback and running iterations
You will be responsible, together with product, for running A/B tests, measuring the results, and making necessary adjustments
Lead the brand
You will be responsible for defining Gemms brand
You will be responsible for brand-related design research — e.g. persona research from a design perspective, competitive benchmarking, etc.
You will be responsible for formalizing the brand and enforcing the consistency across the different areas and assets
Marketing & other design
You will be responsible for developing design process, standards & style guide for marketing
You will be responsible for website design and the design of other marketing assets
Lead the team
Define the structure for the design team
Recruit and hire candidates in Germany, Russia, and other European countries
Develop individual learning maps & mentorship programs for every designer on board
Set up and run necessary team ceremonies

Experience
Strong track record of doing product design, ideally in software/SaaS companies
Some experience with brand & marketing design
Experience in setting up efficient processes for research, delivery, and feedback
Strong experience with setting up and running experiments
You are a rockstar in customer and design research
You led customer interviews & UX testing in the past (ideally in English)
Robust communication skills — you are used to working with diverse international teams in a fast-paced environment
You have an organized, independent & efficient working style
You are data-driven: you are proficient in using analytics tools and drawing conclusions from data
You are fluent in English, German is a plus
Tools / technical skills
Design tools: Figma and any other that you choose
Notion, Jira
Analytics tools: Mixpanel, Google Analytics, Amplitude, and more
