A Local Authority based in London are currently seeking an Interim Head of Place to lead, plan, develop and deliver a range of expert professional services within Housing Operations.
Manage and lead a team offering high quality housing services to council tenants ensuring that customer satisfaction and service levels are maintained and targets exceeded
Direct and indirect line management duties of around 30 staff including senior managers, team leaders and officers
Implement strategic actions to improve the service to ensure that the housing operations are appropriate for all customers and implement changes if required
Overall management responsibility for a budget of £25 million including staff budgets and major works project budgets
Act as the expert advisor on issues surrounding homeownership including major works queries, homeownership and estate management when liaising with internal and external stakeholders
Deal with any complex cases which have been escalated appropriately and ensure that enquiries are dealt with swiftly and sensitively
What you need
Senior management experience, including translating organisational drivers into strategic objectives, longer term plans, new ways of working and specific outcomes, for a portfolio of services in a large public sector organisation (preferably local government)
Evident knowledge in leading a team managing a housing service
Extensive knowledge of the major issues facing local government.
