HireRight is the premier global background screening and workforce solutions provider. The company is currently looking for a Technical Product Owner.

 

Responsibilities:

Identifies, develops and drives platform strategy and initiatives for their area of the platform, which will include data source integrations.
Work closely with Product Managers and Software Engineering teams to drive product development, sprint and release planning.
Manages and owns the Platform backlog for his or her Software Engineering team for data source integrations.
Responsible for prioritization of Software Engineering backlog from Product Management and business stakeholders.
Performs backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release planning with Product Management and Software Engineering team members.
Ensures internal customer validation of solutions by working with Product Management and key End Users.
Coordinates trade-off and dependency analysis for team’s backlogs based on Product Management or Business priorities.
Translate market requirements from Product Management teams to detail technical requirements for Software Engineering team.
Work closely with Product Managers for development and launch of new products and enhancements.
Strong software technologies knowledge and experience including API’s, middleware’s, front-end applications, etc.
Elicit, capture, and translate business requirements into system & functional requirements for API integrations.
Lead requirements gathering for creating new APIs with partners and customers.
Translate request data and perform data mapping required for new integrations.
Create and modify API documentation to be used by HireRight and its partners and customers.
Experience with multiple interface technologies to include SOAP, REST, JSON, etc.
Write and help coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans and test cases and/or queries in PL/SQL to be used in functional testing and integration testing to validate and verify product performance and functionality, as well as execute test cases as needed.
Propose innovative solutions for new products or product enhancements based on gathered requirements; while working with end users, architects, product managers and Software Engineering team members to refine proposed solutions.
Work with end users and technology teams to analyze and prioritize product requirements into a platform backlog and assist in creating work breakdown deliverables.
Create application mock-ups to be used in technical requirement documentation.
Act as a liaison between the business end users, Product Managers and Software Development Teams.
Assist in the preparation and delivery of end user documents, training materials, and user demos.
May apply project management skills to develop work plans and manage and track progress, resources, timelines and issues for the on-time and on-budget delivery of small development tasks.

 

Requirements:
7-10 years of experience in enterprise-level technical product / platform management role.
Must have experience with data integrations.
Demonstrated understanding of web services, API’s, and associated interchange formats.
Experience in business analysis to include creating business and functional requirement documentation.
Experience managing and interacting with third party technology providers and establishing processes for staying in coordination with new releases.
Experience developing mission-critical enterprise software and high-volume transaction systems.
Facilitative leadership experience as well as experience working in matrix and agile environment.
Excellent interviewing, listening, observational, analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with cross functional teams across the organization.
Preference of former technical role to include software engineering, business applications or quality assurance software testing.
Education: BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field required.
