Requirements:
- Relevant Degree
- Minimum of 15 years' experience managing technical integration and implementation of various production teams
- Minimum 15 years of experience in mining
- Minimum 7 years in managerial roles
- Strong mine design and planning skills, with the ability to generate and optimize plans and schedules
- Lead the Mine Technical, Mine Project, Exploration and Resource areas within the Mining Department
- Ensure approved exploration and development programs are designed and executed for the region
- Accountable for the safe execution of field work by the drilling teams
- Support the budgeting and business planning processes for mining with appropriate mine planning and scheduling processes (including sustaining equipment profiles and prioritization of development opportunities)
Accountable for technical readiness including:
- Geotechnical monitoring programs and assessments are in place for all mine structures (including pit walls, dumps and ore stockpiles)
- Ore reconciliation processes are developed and reported as required
- Regulatory compliance governance (including mine tenure, land rents and mineral leases)
- Accountable to ensure ore quality control and grade control programs are in place prior to pre-stripping
- Survey and material quantity reporting processes
- Tailings dam QA/QC
- Site GIS systems are developed and maintained
- Support of site wide water balance and tailings planning activities
- Staff designated area with the resources planned per the master staffing plan and deploy them accordingly to manage the execution of programs
- Monitor, performance manage, grow and develop staff to ensure a capable and competent team
- Review progress and cost tracking reports and make corrections to execution as required
- Investigate incidents, near misses, damage or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out
- Organize and update contracting work, contract preparation and formalization, primary and contractual documentation preparation, ensure and supervise execution of the obligations by the counterparties with regard to the contracts concluded in the areas of activity pertaining
