Responsibilities:

Mercy Corps is seeking a Talent Branding and Video Editing Intern to spearhead the creation of visual media (videos, photos and infographics) to capture the stories of of our HBCU interns as we pilot our HBCU intern pipelines, as well as the larger stories of our Mercy Corps Global Talent initiatives through the creation of infographics and data analysis.

The Talent Branding and Video Editing Intern will also serve as creative deputy in overseeing our Global Internship report we release externally each fall featuring in-depth infographics, a long form report and a podcast. They will also contribute to the development of our direct engagement, employment branding, and social media strategy.

 

Learning objectives:

The successful candidate will learn how storytelling through data analysis, infographics, and video and photo play a significant role in influencing organizational mission and objectives.
Gain an understanding of the lifecycle of data and how it feeds into design and media communication in an agency setting.
Gain experience in a multicultural work environment, coordinating and building relationships with a global team across time zones and geographies, many of whom operate in complex, challenging environments.
The candidate will have the opportunity to advance their skills in cross-collaboration communication, organizational culture, creative problem solving and time management.

 

Deliverables:

Fully edited, high-quality videos of our HBCU intern pipeline cohort to be released externally.
Engaging infographics created and compiled through data analysis to be used in externally released annual report.
Completion of branded talent acquisition documentation and internal websites, including adding infographics and applying easy to read, digestible content.
Refresh of talent branding sites like Glassdoor, LinkedIn, etc.
Analyze applicant source data and make recommendations on which career sites best contribute to diverse and qualified talent pools..
Support branding updates to the MercyCorps.org careers site
Manage the communication and organization of incoming videos and photos coming from around the world, and incorporate them into annual report.
Coordinate regularly with Talent Acquisition and Intern Program Advisor to develop any necessary content along with related creative teams.
Schedule, create and post content across all owned social media channels.

 

The ideal candidate:

A university degree in progress (or completed no more than 1 year ago) in communications, media, video, design
Command of Adobe Premier for video editing.
Passion for international humanitarian development and ability to embrace the diversity of a complex global organization.
Strong visual portfolio that showcases creativity, process, editing, production and presentation.
Creative problem solver – able to design, develop and revolutionize ideas.
Compelling storytelling skills – able to deliver in a way that generates human engagement, excitement and joy for the work we do. .
Attention to detail – able to manage and track and prioritize multiple requests by maintaining strong communications and managing stakeholder expectations
Excellent communication skills – written and spoken
Interest in working in a multicultural environment, and with stakeholders in multiple geographies
