Position Description:
The Sales Director, APAC will bring strategic execution to Toptal’s SMB sales team. Sales team is a driving force of unprecedented growth, and company is looking for an experienced leader to coach and lead the team while promoting Toptal’s customer-centric strategy. This is a remote position. However, company requires applicants to reside in-region. They are unable to provide visa sponsorship. Resumes and communication must be submitted in English.
Responsibilities:
As a Sales Director at Toptal, you will be responsible for all activities across APAC and EMEA’s key markets, and you will run those markets. You will work together with teams and stakeholders at all levels to ensure that our target clients - small and medium businesses in EMEA/APAC - are growing and that you are providing the best possible opportunities to the talent community and the best possible experience to your clients. You will be developing and working with clients across various industries and verticals. You will build and lead a world-class team, leading by example with a growth mindset while driving positive cross-team collaboration to achieve exceptional business results.
In the first week, expect to:
- Onboard and integrate into Toptal
- Learn Toptal’s model, value proposition, and story
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand how you can leverage incredible global team to build client relationships and drive success
- Learn operating model, delivery method, and sales process
In the first month, expect to:
- Complete personalized SMB Sales training program, complete with mock calls and role-play scenarios
- Begin to evaluate the opportunity and establish a business plan for your region
- Begin to meet with clients, articulate value proposition, and identify where they can help organizations in your target portfolio
In the first three months, expect to:
- Establish a working cadence with key clients, stakeholders, and team members in your portfolio
- Provide strategic assistance for all clients within your portfolio, ensure customer satisfaction, and support the talent engaged with your customers
- Develop a holistic plan for uniquely addressing the needs of clients in the region, including target clients, financial projections, and hiring plans
In the first six months, expect to:
- Build and lead your team
- Establish a base of new clients that will serve as the foundation for future growth
- Working with your team, expand the scope of engagement(s) at existing accounts in your region, introducing new capabilities and offerings to your clients, while also increasing the scale of Toptal’s involvement in your accounts
In the first year, expect to:
- Have built a strong, high-performing region with incredible client accounts and a track record of successful delivery, satisfied clients, and positively engaged team members
- Have built the foundation of a world-class, high-performing team, while continuing to grow both your team and your own client portfolio
Requirements:
- 5+ years of leading sales leaders and sales teams working at a services, SaaS, or consulting firm is required to be considered for the role
- 7 years of experience working with high-performing sales and account management organizations in increasing degrees of client and company leadership
- Experience managing/leading a team of leaders as direct reports
- Passion for sales, leadership, operations, and client impact
- Operationally efficient and organization skills
- Experience managing a large, diverse portfolio of client accounts in a services business
- Track record of scaling and growing sales teams
- Track record of developing high-impact executive relationships both internally and externally
- In-depth understanding of the technology services industry is preferred
- Success in playing a leading role within a rapidly growing organization
- Executive presence and outstanding communication skills
- Strong consultative selling knowledge
