Position Overview:
The district manager is responsible for overseeing and providing leadership for one district as his or her own business concentrating on sales growth and profitability, customer satisfaction, merchandising standards, recruitment, training and development of staff and operations. The district manager requires strong delegation, leadership, and operational skills to effectively manage high volume performance.
People Development:
- Network, recruit, hire, develop and retain high quality management to fill store profiles and succession planning
- Set annual goals, administer performance reviews and develop all direct reports
- Train, develop and provide ongoing feedback and coaching on product knowledge, selling skills, visual merchandising and delivering the customer experience
- Evaluate, develop and promote performance of district staff against company standards and goals
Customer Experience:
- Ensure an excellent level of customer service as a priority at all times by executing and achieving the Customer Experience consistently through regular assessment, coaching and follow-up within the district
- Ensure implementation of all visual merchandising standards, directives, promotions, and overall cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and stockroom in each store
Drive Sales + Profitability:
- Meet or exceed profitability expectations for the district in sales, payroll, shrink and conversion Revised January 2009 Human Resources: pg. 2
- Create and execute strategies to maximize district sales and control expenses
Operational Effectiveness:
- Meet all district payroll expectations
- Control company assets by meeting all loss prevention measures
- Execute and comply with all company policies and procedures

Job Requirements:
- Minimum of three years of experience managing a service oriented retail environment
- High School graduate or equivalent. College degree preferred
- Minimum of two years of supervisory skills
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Heavy lifting in excess of 30 pounds
- Proven leadership track record
- Shifts may require standing for a minimum of eight hours
- Travel may be required
