Job Purpose:

  • The Business Development - Market Access is responsible for identifying and creating opportunities to expand market reach, improve market position, and drive revenue growth in alignment with the company's market access strategy. This role involves developing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, analysing market dynamics, and implementing strategies to navigate regulatory and access challenges
  • The BD Market Access will identify, evaluate & conclude organic, greenfield and acquisitive opportunities & partnerships to expand “Market Access” capability & and solutions to newer markets, partners, categories and channels

 

Key Accountabilities:

Strategy & Development:

  • Drive growth of Market Access verticals as per agreed Global/Region/ Business priorities
  • Drive diversification into newer categories like Tech & Durables, Industrial & chemicals and Agric & commodities
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and potential partners or clients
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities that align with the company's market access objectives, such as partnerships, collaborations, or acquisitions
  • Assess and recommend entry strategies for new markets, including market assessments, risk analysis, and entry planning
  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the industry and specific markets
  • Develop and execute strategies to gain access to new markets or improve access to existing ones, considering regulatory, legal, and economic factors
  • Evaluate the financial feasibility of market access initiatives and projects, including ROI analysis
  • Participate in the digital strategy of providing value-added services like B2B demand aggregation, digital/ marketplace solutions etc. and utilizing these functionalities to enhance Market Access capability
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on market access efforts and their alignment with the company's overall strategic goals

Services and solutions development

  • Serve the client holistically, bringing in more revenue by cross-selling Market Access along with Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics and other capabilities
  • Coordinate with the principals to offer sourcing and consolidation services including trade finance where applicable
  • Work with the regions and global to co-build client-centric solutions ensuring that DP World becomes strategic to the client
  • Assisting IMRES and AXIS to grow in other regions as well as exploring the provision of services and supplies within the DP World Ecosystem including Ports and Free Zones
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics, legal, finance, marketing, and operations, to ensure a coordinated approach to market access initiatives
  • Focusing on various trade and economic collaboration initiatives of Central Asia with other countries to benefit our partners and enhance revenues of Market Access and other verticals
  • Responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time bound
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Basic qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business &/or relevant field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Sales, Distribution, Route To Market development with Multinational FMCG companies and or Distribution companies
  • Experience of covering Central Asia and East Europe
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team oriented, collaborative, and able to effectively contribute to multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy and meet demanding timelines
  • Ability to work independently, strong attention to detail, and a passion for driving process improvement
  • Experience presenting to Senior Management

  • Is focused on leading, identifying and developing new initiatives and has a strong business judgment, with a track record of actively collaborating and working with a diverse & developing team
  • Analytical thinking, project management, attention to detail, and organizational skills are necessary
  • The right candidate stays on top of industry trends and can execute at both a tactical and strategic level
  • S/he will build direct relationships with customer counterparts, identify and develop business opportunities, and drive growth across market access & DP World Logistics spectrum
  • This candidate will also have experience from multiple sectors within logistics as a core strength and have demonstrated the ability to launch new markets & products across the globe
  • The person must be a self-starter and effective communicator with leadership and managerial skills
