An American global manufacturer of confectionery, pet food, and other food products Mars is looking for an R&D Innovation Director.
R&D Innovation Director is a key leadership role within the Mars Wrigley EU R&D organization, and is responsible for the effective delivery of regional innovation, value leadership and supply security projects into the manufacturing sites, both internally and externally.
You will be:
Responsible for the priority setting and execution and delivery of regional innovation projects in the factories
Works with the EU R&D Head in the development and delivery of the 3-year innovation pipeline – innovation, value leadership and supply security
Defines and sets priorities for their factory innovation team; identifies and secures appropriate technical resources to bring project through to commercialization
Responsible for handover to the factories as well as specifications enabling all current and new innovations to be produced at optimal flexibility, cost, efficiency and sustainability
Represents Factory Innovation as part of the regional R&D team
Ensures that the Factory Innovation process is carried out such that timelines are met to market products
Responsible for driving consistency in quality of our products and the delivery of the Freedom to Operate (FTO) programs
Responsible for the line management of a team of associates across numerous regional sites.
We expect:
Scientific Degree in the area of Food Science and/or Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Packaging is required
Project management skills typically acquired through 10+ years of professional experience in leading Development and/or Factory Innovation projects as the key technical member on a cross-functional team
Proven track record of management of complex projects through execution, preferably with cross-functional teams
Strong team management skills
