Storytel is one of the world’s leading audiobook and ebook streaming services. The cpmpany now is looking for a Publishing Manager who will be working with the local Russian team, but also with the global Content team.
About the team and role
We see ourselves as the future in publishing where the reader and listener are in the center of the development of content. You will report to the country manager but will also keep close relations with the Publishing Managers in other markets, with the goal to share efforts and achieve international publishing successes.
You will be responsible for Storytels publishing on the streaming service in Russia, developing the strategy for publishing, acquiring both International and Russian audio rights.
Your work will primarily consist of:
Setting and following up on yearly publishing plan
Achieving the set publishing goals
Finding and assessing stories and story ideas/concepts, that targets the core genres of consumption on the platform
Negotiate and acquire interesting rights
Setting and monitoring budgets and production plans
Be the local contact person for authors and business partners (such as licensees)
To be successful in this role we believe that you have
3-5 years of demonstrable relevant working experience
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Open-minded and commercial mindset
Good negotiation skills
Is fluent in Russian and in English, both spoken and written
Apart from a passion for stories and audiobooks, we believe that you have a good eye for commercial quality, are familiar with digital publishing models, and have an excellent ability to think from our customer’s perspective. We also think that you as a person are sociable, very responsible and take initiative.
