About The Role:

  • Level B and above plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading (pro rata)
  • Fixed Term – 3 years
  • Part-time (0.4 FTE – 14 Hours per week)
  • The Program Director position provides academic leadership and direction to the relevant Business School UNSW Online program(s). This includes oversight of the curriculum and management of a variety of program-related matters, in collaboration with Business School Academic Director PG, Heads and Deputy Heads of School (Education), and UNSW Business units
  • The Program Director is a champion for the degree and has responsibility for continuous improvement of the program and student experience, intellectual rigour and currency of the curriculum, monitoring and review, and promotion of the program to prospective students, employers and professions
  • The role of Program Director reports to Business School Academic Director, Postgraduate, but will also collaborate with the Senior Deputy Dean (Education and Student Experience)
  • This position has no direct reports but dotted lines to Course Coordinators/ Lecturers in Charge

 

Specific responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Provide academic leadership and coordination of the assigned Business School programs (Masters, Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate), in line with the University’s 2025+ strategy and the Business School’s strategy
  • Coordinate the operations of the program suite, including recruitment and management of academic course leads (and Online Lecturers where appropriate), development and delivery of high-quality courses and overall coordination
  • Ensure the development and delivery of the program suite meets and complies with all relevant UNSW and Business Schools policies, strategic commitments, procedures, and guidelines including equity, diversity, and inclusion, assessment, PRME and SDGs
  • Oversee admissions standards, assessment and progression processes, and graduation in close cooperation with Shared Student Services, AGSM and Keypath
  • Manage the quality of program development and delivery using student and staff feedback. Review teaching outcomes with Heads of School and those nominated to have program-specific responsibilities
  • Champion the design of transformational education in the program, ensure continuous improvement of course and assessment quality and commitment to a high-quality student experience
  • Identify future employment, professional and accreditation opportunities that will benefit students

 

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • A PhD in a related discipline and/or relative work experience
  • Experience in the leadership of business school courses including high-quality course design and delivery
  • Knowledge of policy and governance requirements associated with program leadership
  • Sustained and high-quality record of accomplishment in teaching, nurturing, and mentoring students, including demonstrated understanding of student issues including mental health, diversity and inclusion and those associated with online learning
  • An understanding of emerging trends in business education both within Australia and internationally
  • Experience in education design, delivery and program outcomes such as employability
  • Expertise in the discipline area relevant to the program
