PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Europa Joven Madrid is a European youth information centre; it is a service offered to young people by Madrid City Council. This project is run by Coordinadora Infantil y Juvenil de Tiempo Libre de Vallecas. It offers information about studying, living, working, volunteering abroad and it sends ESC volunteers around Europe, too.
The tasks of the volunteer in Europa Joven Madrid (EJM) will be:
Developing conversation workshops
Helping with the information sessions about ESC volunteering projects
Helping with the monthly newsletter of Europa Joven Madrid, website, facebook, twitter, etc.
Helping with the daily activities and with special events organized by the center
Helping with the coordination of the other volunteers in special events and activities of Europa Joven Madrid
Supporting special events of Coordinadora de Vallecas.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The volunteer will get money for food each month. He/She will share a flat in Madrid with a volunteer of one of the other associations of “Coordinadora Infantil y Juvenil de Tiempo Libre de Vallecas” or with other local people or with other ESC volunteers. He/She will have his/her own bedroom. Due to high prices in Madrid, rooms have very basic conditions in lower class neibourghoods and far from the center of Madrid. Local transport: The volunteer will get the monthly transport card. Madrid is a big city so volunteers will spend a lot of time in public transportation.
