Yandex.Cloud is looking for a New Country Launch Manager.
Yandex.Cloud is a full-fledged cloud platform launched by Yandex in 2018. Major ambition for the next few years is to become one of the largest cloud providers in the EMEA region, rolling the platform out across multiple markets with customized product offers to meet local needs.
As Launch Manager, you will be the driving force behind international expansion. You will develop a deep understanding of a target market, identifying how to adapt product and creating an operational roll-out plan. On the ground, your team will operationalize Yandex.Cloud before moving on to launch in the next country.
This role requires strong strategic thinking, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for problem solving. Company is looking for someone who's equally strategic and analytical as they are biased toward action. You will own company`s expansion.
You can be based anywhere, but the role will require frequent engagement with the team in HQ (Moscow, Russia) as well regular travel to the new countries Yandex.Cloud is launching in. You will report to the Launch Lead.
Responsibilities:
- Establish priorities, set objectives, and manage the project
- Develop an in-depth understanding of target markets, local (legislative) nuances, and cultural differences
- Evaluate market potential, run competitive analysis, develop a launch strategy
- Combine and manage the business’s product, operations, marketing, finance, and commercial aspects
- Set up local presence (e.g., office, business operations) and ensure company gets a foothold in the market
- Support commercial department to develop a winning go-to-market strategy and hire and onboard a local team to take over
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of working experience preferably coming from consulting, entrepreneurship, or a scaleup organization
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to inspire action and get things done across all levels of the organization
- Comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic startup-like environment and able to make decisions in situations with many unknowns
- Able to define key processes as well as build a working business out of them
- Experience managing complex projects with many different and difficult stakeholders
- Open to frequent travel to different markets
- Fluent in English
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience launching/scaling products or services in new countries
- Experience scaling businesses relying on network effects
- Knowledge of additional languages (European languages/Arabic/Hebrew)
