We are looking for a world-class Music Editor to join our Music Culture & Editorial team in Moscow. You will identify and curate first-rate playlists and programming experiences for a multitude of our moods, moments, and genres, demonstrate a passion for analytics and will have your ear to the ground in the music community, focusing mainly on the local audience. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
— Understand and gain insight into consumer behaviors by analyzing data and analytics;
— Identify and substantiate playlist hypotheses for Russia and CIS;
— Curate and maintain a large number of playlists in a variety of genres for different audiences, moods and moments;
— Be responsible for the daily content programming and music curation within Spotify;
— Present and follow up on strategic and creative projects and bets within Music Culture & Editorial;
— Help build and maintain strong links between Spotify editorial team and the music creator community including artists, managers, record labels and publishing company executives, for Russian and Eastern European music;
— Work with the global S&E team together with the cross-functional teams to progress towards various content objectives.
WHO YOU ARE:
— You are an expert when it comes to knowledge of Russian and Eastern European artists, festivals, history, newcomers, music influencers – basically, everything to do with the music and pop culture in Russia and CIS. You are also well-aware of global music news and trends;
— You possess a business level of written and spoken Russian and English;
— You have a keen sense of what makes music appropriate for different situations and an ability to identify great tracks to fit;
— You deeply understand music from across all genres and respect the tastes of all kinds;
— Ability to work with and respond to data and analytics;
— At least 3+ years of experience in the music/entertainment industry;
— Strong propensity to take initiative and thrive on change;
— You care about attention to detail and organization, have a team spirit, a strong work ethic, and a friendly, warm attitude.
