The vacancy for Managing Director at Rijk Zwaan Russia

Russia has a fast-growing vegetable seed market where Rijk Zwaan is active with dedicated research programs in order to develop future varieties and an healthy business growth. Our subsidiary Rijk Zwaan Russia focuses mainly on product development, marketing and sales. In Russia we are a growing company, very active on the market and led by a board of two Managing Directors who are jointly responsible for the entire operation and 40 people working in Russia. Each Managing Director however has also his or her own attention fields. As a team, you will guide our subsidiary in sales activities, business development, chain activities and R&D operations. The other directors will focus on financial, legal and administrative issues as well as HR activities and ICT. Together you report to the RZ board based in The Netherlands.

With support from the Rijk Zwaan head office and globally operating crop teams, you will develop business strategies and tactics to grasp the opportunities in the dynamic vegetable seed market in Russia and hence will ensure sustainable growth for the company. Every year you will make a five year development plan, including sales targets, investments and cost development, in accordance with the second Managing Director.

We are seeking a

Managing Director with

An academic degree preferably in the area of (agricultural) business economics
More than 10 years managerial experience in an international environment
Good understanding of the agriculture industry and preferably also of horticulture
Strategic insights for commercial and company development
A people-oriented management style and high teamwork abilities

Due to the international environment a good command of the English language is a requirement. Furthermore, you are willing to travel countrywide and internationally on a regular basis.
