Joompay is a European banking app made simple for your everyday use. Operates from the Luxembourg headquarters under an electronic money institution license, with other offices in Riga, Latvia and Moscow, Russia. Joompay is a part of Joom Group - an international group of tech companies, whose first product, Joom mobile marketplace, has more than 400M users around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Advising the management, the product, and the development teams on legal matters relating to payments, regulatory compliance, intellectual property and licensing, outsourcing, data privacy and other matters relating to the wide range of products and services
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating contractual documentation with services providers, banks and PSPs, as well as own client documentation
- Performing legal and regulatory research on the areas of interest for the company, such as new markets or new products
- Contributing to the internal control and governance framework by reviewing and drafting policies and procedures, risk assessments and periodic controls together with other functions primarily responsible for it
- Effectively collaborating with Compliance, Finance, Operations and IT functions by providing prompt legal advice and engaging into joint efforts of achieving company goals
Requirements:
- Full legal education
- 3-4 year of post qualification experience in law with a law firm, a financial institution, or a big 4 company
- Willingness to work in a dynamic fintech environment on a variety of tasks stretching across multiple jurisdictions, products, and services
- Critical thinking together with good communication skills
- Fluent English
Preferred:
- LLM
- Experience in the payment services industry
- French
