Akkuyu Nuclear is building and will operate a nuclear power plant in Turkey. The company is looking for a Legal Counsel.
Musts:
Qualified to practice law in Russia.
Being in love with law, excited about engineering, and passionate about construction.
Relevant experience practicing law with a law firm or an in-house legal team.
Ability to write and speak in Russian and English fluently about legal and business matters.
Good understanding of Russian contract law.
Basic knowledge of common contract law and strong desire to dive into it deeply.
Understanding of industrial construction stages.
Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts both in Russian and English language.
Team player able to work independently.
Well-structured speaking and writing.
Attention to details, intolerance to sloppy drafting.
Ability to adequately determine priorities in multi-tasking environment.
Would be a plus:
Understanding Russian nuclear industry regulatory environment.
Experience in project financing.
Experience in cross-border commercial transactions (customs laws, Incoterms, currency transfer control regulations).
Interest in analyzing and visualization of business processes.
About the job:
As Legal Counsel you are expected to work on all matters related to our EPC contract, draft and negotiate addenda to it, consider and negotiate change orders and other ideas of our EPC contractor, facilitate discussions to prevent disputes, interact with other functional teams to ensure proper conversion of commercial arrangements into the contract.
You will also work on other non-Russian and Russian law governed contracts related to the project such as equipment supply contract, transportation contracts and others.
We would expect you from time to time to advise on financing. At a later stage, you will have to gain an insight into NPP life cycle contractual arrangements such as service, maintenance, nuclear fuel supply and treating and disposing spent fuel.
Since we are a part of Rosatom, you should not be unhappy to ensure compliance of your decisions and actions with Rosatom by-laws and various nuclear industry standards to the extent applicable to the project. Your role will sometimes require you to act as a project manager when handling complex legal matters with the assistance of your colleagues qualified to practice Turkish law.
Finally, you should like to describe and visualize business processes administered by the legal team which include general legal advice, contact work, dispute resolution, corporate governance and property management. We expect you to draft internal guidelines and regulations in a clear and user-friendly manner using all means of processes visualization (tables, matrices and process flow diagrams).
