AliExpress Russia is looking for a Legal Counsel. The position will support the logistics limb of e-commerce 1P and B2C marketplace business of Aliexpress platform.
Responsibilities will include, without limitation:
Counseling on a broad range of legal related matters, including logistics, e-commerce, regulatory, commercial and compliance matters;
Reviewing and drafting general contracts, including logistics services agreements with MKPL sellers, contracts with logistics companies, lease contracts with warehouses, contracts for the construction of a building in BTS, contracts suppliers of goods and services for logistics business unit, software license contracts, NDAs etc.;
Conducting legal research on logistics, e-commerce related issues;
Advising the various business units on new projects for logistics business unit, including integrations with partners, review from Legal of new R&D developments, modules, applications;
Working with external lawyers, making small tender requests, control of performance of external counsel;
Proactive solutions and suggestions to further improve the functioning of Legal and other departments.
Job requirements:
At least 2 years of strong and solid experience practicing Russian laws related to logistics in an in-house legal department of marketplace or logistics company;
Russian language proficiency essential. English language proficiency, including strong legal English. Legal drafting in English is a must;
Experience in managing an outside counsel;
Open-mindedness and tolerance, high ethical standards and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; exceptional business judgment, with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice to internal clients and business teams;
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, high level of communication, strong social skills; high energy and the ability to interface with, and gain the respect of, stakeholders at all levels;
Be prepared when needed to give advice that is urgent, be ready to grow out of your comfort zone and outperform in a start-up culture;
Ability to work independently and to multi-task in ambiguous and fast-paced work environment.
