Reuters is looking for a talented Head of Visuals to manage fast-paced visuals operations in Russia and the CIS region.
Thomson Reuters is the world’s leading provider of news and information-based tools to professionals.
You will have a proven track record of leading video and photo teams across multiple locations, including hostile environments.
You will be very customer-focused and will be able to tailor content for a diverse global client base that includes more than 1,000 broadcasters and digital media outlets. This is a senior role and you will be experienced at driving performance and managing change across a diverse and demanding region that is rarely out of the headlines. Strong Russian and English language skills are a must for this position.
As a Head of Visuals for Russia and CIS, you will:
Lead the Visuals operation across Russia and the CIS region
Supervise our Russian-language service that delivers ready-to-air content to broadcasters and online publishers.
Ensure the CIS region is aligned with Visuals strategy, specifically with a view to broadcast, photo and digital video clients and multimedia.
Take charge of planning
Ensure our teams are positioned to deliver high-quality video and photos at speed to all Reuters customers.
Work alongside colleagues from text and pictures to help create a truly unified newsgathering team.
Ensure that multimedia working across the region becomes part of the region’s day-to-day planning coordination and coverage.
Champion high performers and hold staff accountable for performance
Represent Visuals internally and externally, including client visits
Uphold Reuters Trust Principles of independence, integrity and freedom from bias
To be a Head of Visuals for Russia and CIS, you will likely have:
Senior editorial experience in agency and/or broadcast television newsgathering and production
Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate local and remote teams
A track record of working in a breaking news environment
Experience of managing teams in hostile environments
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Strong planning and organisational skills
Have a clear understanding of the news video needs of major broadcasters and digital clients
Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships quickly.
Ability to drive speed and accuracy
A thorough understanding of the latest digital visuals’ technologies used for storytelling, filming, editing, transmission and sharing
Fluent English – written and oral
Excellent Russian – written and oral
