CIS International School Skolkovo is looking for a Head of School.

 

About CIS International School:
Engaged and passionate students, highly experienced teachers and state-of-the-art facilities are the foundations of CIS International School. The school is academically selective and provides a well-rounded education founded on academic rigour complemented by rich co-curricular programmes. The school follows the Cambridge Curriculum, which is based on the National Curriculum of England for children between the ages of 3 and 18 years old.

 

About the Role:
An outstanding and inspirational Head of School is required for August 2022 for Campus.
The Head of School has the overall responsibility for managing the school and implementing the CIS vision, mission and values. This person is ultimately accountable for the learning outcomes of all students and the quality of teaching and learning in the school. Together with Head of Operations, the Head of School is accountable for delivering business performance objectives. In addition to the Cambridge School Leader Standards, the Head of School must also uphold public trust in the profession and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour, within and outside the school, by:

  • Treating students with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries appropriate to an educator’s professional position
  • Having regards for the need to safeguard students’ well-being, in accordance with statutory/regulatory provisions
  • Showing tolerance of and respect for the rights of other
  • Having proper and professional regard for the ethos, policies and practices of the school and maintain high standards in their own attendance and punctuality
  • Having an understanding of, and always act within, the policies set by CIS Education Group which set out their professional duties and responsibilities

 

Manage Excellent Key School Processes:

  • Ensure child-centric effective school routine is in place before start of academic year, approved by Chief Academic Officer / CEO  and communicated to school community (staff, parents, students)
  • Esnure all school events are planned in advance in EPIC calendar before start of academic year, approved by Chief Academic Officer / CEO and communicated to school community (staff, parents, students). Ensure all planned events excellent realisation and any deviations to be approved by accountable school governances
  • Ensure grading standards for both international and local curriculums are in place before start of academic year, approved by Chief Academic Officer / CEO, aligned to Cambridge standards and communicated to school community (staff, parents, students). Ensure single grading system is used across the whole school life
  • Ensure homework strategy and standards for both international and local curriculums are in place before start of academic year, approved by Chief Academic Officer / CEO, and communicated to school community (staff, parents, students). Ensure single homework strategy and standards  across all age groups. Ensure all homework is checked on time and feedback is provided to parents and students
  • Ensure afterschool clubs (inlcuding free clubs) provision is planned before start of academic year, approved by Chief Academic Officer / CEO  and communicated to school community (staff, parents, students)
  • Ensure Value Based Education framework is defined for school before start of academic year, approved by Chief Academic Officer / CEO  and communicated to school community (staff, parents, students)
  • Promote deployment of Friends of CIS community effectively and ensure regular meetings are in place and community engagement, Lead education lectures and seminars for parents on education topics, Deploy workshops with parents (breakfasts, open days, PTAs), organise students visiting parent workplaces
  • Ensure effective  Students Course Selection strategy in place (IGCSE, A-Level, National Curriculum)
  • Ensure Group Student Progress Reporting process and standards are strictly followed
  • Promote deployment of English-speaking environment culture at school
  • Ensure Induction Plan & training program is available for new academic faculty
  • Ensure Inset program is available at least two months before start of program
  • Create culture of using peer lesson observations and visits for improved learning process
  • Ensure school is fully staffed before start of the academic year, inlcuding teaching and operational staff
  • Ensure teachers provide open lessons for practice sharing and observations
  • Increase understanding and usage of available books and teaching resources
  • Ensure all academic staff completes safeguarding and child safety trainings
