Buy Now Pay Later provider tabby is looking for a Head of risks.
tabby is the leading Buy Now Pay Later provider in the MENA region challenging legacy payment methods by providing a brand-new frictionless alternative to paying online and offline. tabby provides two options for the clients – to pay in 14 days after the order delivery or to pay by instalments within 3 months. Clients can use tabby with more than 1000 retailers such as IKEA, IQOS, Adidas and Marks & Spencer to name but a few. The company is currently operating in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with plans to expand into a number of other markets soon.
To succeed, you should be excited about navigating the Buy Now Pay Later landscape which is still relatively uncharted territory in this market. However, there is a real appetite from both consumers and retailers to utilise the service and reap the benefits that this would offer them. Company needs to harness the power of data and insights to shape their thinking, to collaborate with partners & colleagues to build something that will facilitate real growth and scalability.
You will work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment across all areas of the business including data analysis and modelling, risk assessment and product management. You will work closely with our Head of Risk and Founders to control the risk portfolio and implement new features.
You would be responsible for:
- All underwriting work needed to deploy decisioning models and logic
- Maintaining and consistent improvement of our risk assessment algorithms
- Setting and monitoring the credit risk control framework, various KPIs to inform decisions and support recommendations across the company
- Designing credit limit assignment & management policy
- Managing team of data analysts
The ideal candidate should have the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or a related technical field
- Strong analytical and data capabilities, backed up by technical coding skills
- SQL is a must-have, Python is a plus
- Visualization technologies such as Tableau is a plus
- Working experience in fintech 3+ years
- Track record as a team manager
- Experience with modelling and machine learning techniques as a plus
- You thrive in ambiguous environments. Ask incisive questions and have an intellectual curiosity. You have a structured approach to problem solving alongside strong quantitative skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to effectively lead interactions with both business and technical teams
