В SPLAT требуется Head of Research And Development (New and Existing Categories).
The purpose of this role is to re-align SPLAT’s research, development, innovation, and scientific efforts with the current demands and needs of portfolio, as well as long-term vision. You will help company continue creating outstanding innovative products in existing categories — oral care, home care, hair care, and supplements — and explore potential new categories that complement product portfolio. This is a brand-new role created from transformation efforts to align structure with the company’s long-term vision.
Key Interfaces:
- In this role, you will report to Director of Development and interact with key members of the company’s leadership team
- Your role will partner extensively with commercial functions to ensure that projects are embedded in R&D approach and that robust business cases are developed for all development and production activities
- You will lead a team of ~20 talented individuals, comprised in different groups according to product line and functionality
- You will interact with vendors and suppliers of ingredients, materials and services needed to ensure development of commercially successful products; government and regulatory bodies, where applicable
Accountabilities:
- Development of new commercially successful products
- Renovation of existing products
- Identification and nurturing of new technologies
- Defining and upholding the standards of work
- Active participation with a cross-functional peer group to establish priorities necessary to meet the company’s growth and profit objectives
- Development of self-guided high performance work teams
- Oversee identification, selection, authorization and/or management of relationships with vendors or suppliers to ensure proper capabilities, conformance with Company standards and appropriate products and services (e.g. ingredients, materials, testing services)
- Auditing the current R&D structure in order to optimize and develop organizational capability within R&D; Provide outstanding leadership to the R&D function, including the coaching and development of the R&D team
- Other, company business-plan driven initiatives and activities
Qualifications:
- Academic background in science-related discipline
- Experience leading research or development function with full-accountability for development life cycle of the product
- Background in FMCG (personal care, cosmetics) or Pharmaceutical (OTC preferred) sectors
- Ability to understand the different business contexts (different markets within geographies where SPLAT operates: EMEA, CIS, Asia, Americas) and create new business opportunities through science & technology
- Proven ability of translating business strategy into R&D Programs delivery (time, cost, quality)
- Oversight or exposure to R&D strategy and portfolio (including renovations), delivering business results
- Led teams, providing the right balance of support & challenge for senior R&D directors/experts
- Have tenure in internationally recognizable organizations with social impact
- Exposure, however insignificant to another function (Industrial, Quality, Marketing) will be an advantage
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Multicultural: able to build efficient dialogue with cross-border with colleagues; at the same time understands specifics and patterns in the diverse consumer markets
