Legal (LEG) is the competence unit for all legal matters related to the Equinor group’s business areas and corporate activities and consist of legal experts, specialists, consultants, and qualified support personnel. The department has overall responsibility for advising on all legal matters and on ethics and anti-corruption compliance, undertaking Integrity Due Diligence research and acting as the Corporate Bodies’ secretariat within the Equinor group.
Job Description
- Manage the legal function at Equinor Russia office
- Be a member of Equinor Russia Management team
- Report to the Vice President of Legal Development and Production International
- Close co-operation with commercial teams and participation in negotiations and project work pertaining to Equinor activities in Russia and drafting of conrtacts in this respect
- Legal monitoring and work in relation to Equinor activities in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan
- Preparing legislative review and updates for the management and relevant stakeholders
- Work on and follow up internal Moscow office related matters which will include but not be limited to human resources, real estate, registration issues etc and corporate administrative work
- Close co-operation with accounting and finance teams on local operational matters
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various contracts in close co-operation with procurement teams
- Work on contracts in close co-operation with external lawyers. Engage external lawyers when required and review their deliverables
- Ad hoc legal advice and legal support to Russia Country manager, Russia Management team and other internal stakeholders
- Participate in litigations Equinor is involved in and in settlement of claims
- Liaise with and co-operate closely with legal teams of Equinor partners in Russia
Qualifications
- Law degree
- Proven track record of professional legal work experience with major Russian/International law firms or with oil and gas companies with relevant assets and activities in Russia
- Strong understanding of legal aspects relevant for oil and gas companies in Russia
- Litigation and Pro Bono experience is preferable
- Professional English skills are required
