TikTok is searching for a Head of Legal (Russia & Eastern Europe).
Responsibilities:
Manage the legal function for Russia & Eastern Europe, partnering with legal colleagues and senior business leads;
Manage legal risk and advise on compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, working in partnership with legal and government relations and public policy colleagues and external counsel as appropriate;
Support and drive key projects and outcomes on business strategies to deliver growth, including leading on drafting key agreements and negotiations;
Act as a close and proactive business partner to business leads, leading the legal agenda to ensure delivery of commercial goals;
Manage a high performing team of lawyers and help them develop to their fullest potential;
Identify and drive forward improvements to processes and systems to improve efficiency of the legal function, proactively managing legal resource;
Support crisis management for the region;
Monitor, highlight and address key legal trends, risks and opportunities, including supporting TikTok’s government relations and policy teams with advocacy on draft legislation;
Partner with multiple stakeholders for the business with a focus on building relationships and forward planning;
Develop a strong network including external counsel.
Requirements:
Qualified lawyer in Russia with 15+ years experience;
Native Russia speaker and fluency (verbal and written) in English;
Hands on, with a commercial mindset and strong management experience;
Extensive experience advising senior stakeholders on legal risk;
Prior experience advising international technology businesses, platforms and/or digital media businesses, either based in private practice or in-house;
Prior experience advising on platform regulation and working with regulators and government agencies;
Strong collaborator and team-player with ability to navigate large and complex organisation;
Proven experience managing complex projects with stakeholders across multiple timezones to tight deadlines;
Proactive, self-starter with a strong work ethic who is comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
