What’s it all about:
- As the Head of Legal and Compliance you will build a world-class legal function from the ground up. As our first Head of Legal, your expertise and creativity will shape all facets of our innovative, mission-driven business, including product offerings, commercialisation, financing, corporate governance, regulatory matters, government affairs and compliance, as the business scales.
Responsibilities:
- Implement compliance policies, procedures, manuals, and checklists including updating such documents in line with regulatory developments.
- Ensure the implementation of compliance diaries.
- Implement/carry out tasks emanating from multiple compliance monitoring programme.
- Support the employees on regulatory queries including matters related to AML/CFT.
- Prepare compliance reports for Boards and Compliance Committees.
- Support employees on matters pertaining to Data Protection in line with GDPR.
- Ensure compliance with the ongoing application and monitoring of GDPR requirements.
- Maintain and develop a compliance culture with all legislation and regulations applicable to the company.
- Support the management team when/ if necessary, on any external compliance services that may be provided to clients.
Requirements:
- Legal Degree or a Doctor of Laws qualification.
- A qualification in compliance/ finance or the equivalent would be considered an asset.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role within financial services or within the iGaming industry.
- Proficient working knowledge of related legislation and regulation.
- Proactive and flexible, adopting a 'can do' attitude to work.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
