Job profile:
Company is looking for an experienced Communications Director to lead a team of media relations, internal communications and employer branding professionals based in Bangkok, Thailand. You’ll have a solid track record of leading strategically creative communications campaigns across multi markets in both an agency and in-house setting. You will also be comfortable working in a fast paced, data centric, matrix environment which has a real emphasis on ownership and problem solving. You should be someone who can confidently set the tone and direction for messaging that reflects Agoda’s brand values; building and protecting reputation to key external and internal audiences globally. This is a leadership role, so you will also most importantly be ready to take on the challenge of bringing Agoda’s Communications team to the next level.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Developing, driving and improving a unified communications strategy across PR, Internal Communications and Employer Branding that helps build and protect the reputation of Agoda
  • Overseeing the preparation, management and quality control of all media, internal communications and employer branding campaigns and materials for core multi managed market activity
  • Working with the global Executive leadership team to implement strategic, proactive media relations plans to drive measurable results for the business
  • Planning and managing strategic communications to employees worldwide
  • Preparing for and responding to crisis/issues: providing counsel to global and regional Executives while making strategic decisions around all communications channels’ output (consumer, partner, internal, media)
  • Leading, managing, nurturing and motivating both local-based and remote-working Communications professionals
  • Developing and maintaining beneficial relationships with key internal stakeholders, plus external stakeholders including media, vendor and partners
  • Tracking and measuring the outcomes across the various channels within budget

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 18+ years hands-on experience in communications across PR, Internal Communications and/or MarComms within both an agency and in-house setting
  • Sound understanding and solid expertise of media relations and employee communications in a fast moving, matrix organization. Experience in the Technology, Consumer Fintech, and/or travel sectors is preferable
  • Consumer, Corporate and B2B experience working for or with household brands across multi-market, regional or global campaigns. Event management experience advantageous
  • Strong leadership track record, with minimum 5+ years experience managing local and remote teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in crisis planning and issues management
  • Experience managing C-suite, business leaders and other key stakeholders within the organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related discipline

Additional Skills/Attributes:

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to lead the teams to deliver against key metrics
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills, and ability to problem solve under pressure
  • Proven coaching of a high performing team
  • Impeccable writing and copy editing skills, combined with a strong story telling capability to multiple audience types is a must
  • Solid project management and organizational skills, with the talent to multi-task and prioritize while working to deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial and inquisitive – experience of using new technologies to improve comms output
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms, and familiarity of SEO, Google analytics
  • Strong Microsoft office knowledge, data and dashboard exposure
