At NNG we develop the next generation of navigation and infotainment technology to improve driving experience, working with 7 of the top 10 car manufacturers worldwide. Headquartered in Hungary, we have a global footprint with coverage in almost 200 countries and 12 company offices worldwide. We have recently established a new development center in Kazan, tasked with delivering customized cutting-edge solutions to Russian vehicle manufacturers. In addition, the Kazan office will also develop independent, reusable software components for the global market, primarily frontend software (JavaScript, iOS and Android) and Java backend microservices.
Occupying a managerial/leader role, the Head of Development in NNG Kazan is responsible for the successful development and delivery of software solutions produced in Innopolis. In addition to leading and managing the development teams, the Head of Development works closely with the members of the management team in the HQ office in Budapest to provide software services meet customer needs.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the local software development effort
- Establish and develop software development procedures and methods
- Improve software development and effectiveness of technology and quality assurance proceses; approve and enforce relevant policies and norms
- Play an active role in providing a strategic direction for the NNG Kazan office
- Prepare materials for the Business Unit Leader and the management team to facilitate decision-making
- Prepare and adhere to budget plans
- Supervise the completion of technology-related tasks; develop and maintain effective collaboration between business units
- Play an active role in resource planning and organization, efficiency measurement, human resource planning, selection, retention, motivation, and performance appraisal processes
- Coordinate direct reports: Plan, organize, supervise, and appraise their performance
Required skills and experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in software development (preferably in the mobile app, cloud and/or automotive sectors)
- 5+ years of proven experience in leading a development team
- Experience in managing international clients of different cultures
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Analytical mindset and excellent prioritisation skills, strategic approach
- High degree of accountability, commitment, and responsibility
- Fluency in English
