Mobile commerce company Mondia is looking for Head of Data.
About the role:
- Determining a data strategy with the technology platform;
- Deciding on the combination of cloud data technologies that best meets the needs of the platform;
- Developing an architecture that combines streaming data, traditional transaction processing, analytical databases and data warehouses;
- Implementing machine learning technology and supporting emerging artificial intelligence technologies on the platform;
- Building the data function, including hiring a support team;
- Creating data management and control processes;
- Creating a data analytics and data reporting function;
- Managing data engineering team;
- Run business intelligence activities to produce management reporting;
- Carry out data analysis activities on all types of data;
- Build data models and establish relationships between data points;
- Ensure data quality;
- Create reference and master data models;
- Conduct awareness sessions and training to end users;
- Produce periodical reports on own area of expertise to the Information Management Dashboard and KPI`s.
- Maintain the health and morale of the team;
- Have regular 1:1s with the team and make sure there is a good and honest communication channel with people about great feedback and areas of improvement;
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will have superb analytical, technical, business and communication
skills to be able to work with business and technology leaders to define and prioritize
key business questions, build data acquisition processes, data sets, statistical models
and analyses that answer those questions. - MS degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Data Mining
- 10+ years of experience in Analytics, Data Science Business Intelligence or other
- 5+ years of analytical people management experience
- Deep experience developing successful analytics-based solutions to business
- Proven track record of solving ambiguous and highly complex data problems
- Proficiency using SQL to query large relational databases and ability to build and
- Experience working with AWS, Hadoop/MapReduce, Spark or other Big Data
- Experience with statistical analytics tools such as R, Python, SAS, or STATA
- Exceptional critical thinking and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to explain technical
