SoundCloud — the leading music entertainment company that offers the only direct-to-consumer music streaming platform and next generation artist services in the industry today — is seeking the world’s best Head of Consumer Product. Based in Berlin, as the Head of Consumer Product you’ll be a key member of the consumer leadership team.
Responsibilities:
Set the strategy. Articulate a product vision and strategy that helps SoundCloud become the world’s largest music entertainment company by scaling its consumer platforms and identifying breakout artists early in their growth. Own this vision and strategy and act as its champion throughout the company to drive buy-in
Build the roadmap. With the teams, translate this vision into clear and well-prioritized roadmaps and backlogs that will enable us to simultaneously develop our relationships with our users, address technical debt, and make meaningful progress on our business goals
Define the investment. Build models to understand the business impact throughout your portfolio, measure performance, and make the case for the resource investment you need
Drive delivery that achieves business objectives. Collaborate across functions to ensure that we ship product with a consistently high bar for customer experience and performance that also contributes to growth and revenue goals
Take us new places. With other senior consumer leaders, lead our expansion into new geographies, novel interaction types, and additional monetization models
Lead the team. Build, mentor and lead a world-class product team
Skills:
15+ years of experience with a consistent track record of building world class digital consumer products for global social, media, and/or gaming brands; especially two-sided marketplaces and community-based services
A thorough understanding of the entertainment and technology landscape; bonus points for familiarity with the music industry and the lifecycle of audio creators
Proven experience balancing a portfolio of products and features that includes long-established inherited products as well as true blank-page innovation
Demonstrated success growing revenue using a variety of monetization models, including transactions, subscriptions, and advertising; bonus points for experience developing virtual economies
8+ years of experience hiring, managing, coaching and creating a high-performance culture for a PM team; and experience as a leader of leaders spread across multiple geographies, especially US and EU
Experience partnering or buying to inorganically accelerate product growth
Deep established proficiency in analytically rigorous data-driven experimentation
International experience and a knowledge of diverse cultural, social and business landscapes.
