PayPal is looking for a Head of Business Operations.
Working as part of the Entity Operations team, the Head of Business Operations will have the primary responsibility for preparation and operational support in relation to regulatory reporting for customer data and managing enquiries from relevant Authorities regarding customers. The role also includes daily reconciliation, static data maintenance, proper keeping of internal registers, update internal regulation documents and coverage of other daily responsibilities.
Deliverables and key activities:
- Responsible for managing relationships and enquiries from Authorities and taking the appropriate actions (e.g. CBR 440-P, 741-P) including electronic document management
- Accountable for daily and regulatory reporting obligations of the PayPal Russia entity to the relevant Tax Authorities on customer accounts
- Accountable for specific ad hoc reporting obligations of the PayPal Russia entity to the Central Bank of Russia
- Working with key stakeholders in PPRU and PayPal Group to manage enquiries from Authorities and regulatory reporting obligations with high levels of quality assurance
- Perform reconciliation of Tax authority claims against PayPal records and other data points ensuring any differences are investigated and remediated in advance of payment due dates
- Manage operating procedures and checklists focusing heavily on internal controls throughout
- Creating process efficiencies with particular focus on risk reduction through automation
- Preparing and presenting periodic updates to Regulatory, Compliance and Finance Leadership
- Proactively investigating, resolving, and communicating any issues to internal stakeholders
- Providing proper support for other operational matters to relevant stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:
- Qualified professional preferably with a Finance or Operations background and ~5+ years’ professional experience in regulated e-commerce/payments/financial services industries
- Keen analytical and problem-solving experience with a strong focus on quality assurance of output
- Strong people management skills with experience working in a matrix organisation
- Understanding of regulations affecting the Banking and Payments industries in Russia
- Excellent English language written and oral communication skills
- Positive attitude and proven ability to create and maintain a balanced, positive work environment
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast paced and dynamic environment with a high degree of personal accountability, integrity and trust
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross functional local and global teams
- Technical experience dealing with multiple data systems and reporting platforms
- Ability in sourcing, interrogating and manipulating data in various forms and code from multiple systems/platforms; knowledge of macros, SQL and Tableau an advantage
