Role Summary:

The Head of Business Operations is a key member of the Country Leadership Team, and reports to the Country Manager. This role will anticipate, identify, understand, engage in, and support effective prioritization of issues and opportunities across the business and ensure initiatives are completed in a timely and effective manner. The Head of Business Operations will provide operational support to enhance organizational efficiency, goal clarity and alignment of activities between the key stakeholders. The Head of Business Operations will lead and be accountable for key projects across various commercial disciplines that have significant business impact in the market. He/she will ensure global/regional/local alignment and address diverse business needs with flexibility and streamlined decision making. He/she will partner with the LT to prioritize and execute key projects to ensure local business goals & outcomes are met within required timelines and compliance guidelines.

 

Role Responsibilities:

Business Operations:

  • Provide comprehensive day-to-day operational support to the Country Manager as required
  • Coordinate and facilitate Country Leadership Team (LT) interactions
  • Establish and maintain systems and processes to share information and make informed decisions across the business
  • Act as a liaison to ensure full engagement of Regional/Global stakeholders in relevant issues
  • Facilitate preparation for regular business reviews with Regional/Global management
  • Act on behalf of or represent the Country Manager as needed

Local Strategy and Execution:

  • Work closely with the Country Manager and other relevant stakeholders to set the direction for the annual Strat Plan process and drive its execution, including quarterly reviews of forecasts, by coordinating the work of various LT members
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the healthcare environment in Russia to provide context for internal decision making
  • Identify and discuss business needs with the Country Manager and LT and independently develop strategic options using a broad knowledge base about the Russian business and external marketplace
  • Partner with the Country Manager and LT to develop strategy for the future state operations from a structural and functional perspective
  • Partner with commercial leaders to identify risks and new business opportunities
  • Ensure that the Country Manager and LT are aware of important issues affecting strategy and operations
  • Ensure that operational objectives are clearly defined and met in a timely manner
  • Maintain a robust performance monitoring ecosystem across all levels of the business
  • Ensure guidance from Regional/Global functions is followed by relevant local stakeholders

Project Management:

  • Drives translation of Global initiatives into actionable/executable deliverables for local rollout/implementation
  • Identifies, proposes, obtains agreement to, and guides the implementation of key projects which will address specific market needs with significant impact, and ensures successful achievement of planned outcomes. Project scope may be specific to Russia and/or include Global/Regional projects*

*These projects may include but are not limited to:

  • Growth strategy
  • Go to market model transformation
  • Efficiency / savings projects: portfolio rationalization, benchmarking, organizational assessments
  • Ad hoc needs: special projects that do not fit the above

 

Candidate Profile:

Language Proficiency

  • Russian – native
  • English – fluent

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, engineering, science, or similar disciplines
  • Additional business education/MBA degree is an advantage

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • 7-10+ years of professional experience (experience in management consulting and/or healthcare industries strongly preferred)
  • Broad experience in such disciplines as marketing, strategic planning, business development, project management and similar
  • Solid commercial and financial knowledge
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex projects
  • Demonstrated track record of high performance and producing outstanding results
