Deep-tech startup WayRay is searching for Head of Accounting.
WayRay is a Swiss-based deep-tech startup on a mission to create a future where any transparent surface is a window into virtual worlds.
Company is looking for a Head of Accounting to be a key member of the Finance Department in a Russian entity. In this role, your key responsibility will be maintaining accounting, preparing financial statements as well as management account and handling audits of all group companies (2 full scope and 5 limited scope entities).
Primary tasks:
- Manage the Accounting department (5+ people)
- Maintain Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) and Tax accounting
- Oversee accounting of Swiss entity organized internally
- Control outsourcers providing accounting and tax services
- Ensure accounting in accordance with Skolkovo rules
- Perform transformation from local standards into IFRS
- Prepare consolidated financial statements of the Group under IFRS
- Draft accounting policies in accordance with accounting law and standards
- Handle Big-4 audits and tax investigations
- Prepare other reports, requests and documents for banks, tax authorities, audit companies and other organizations
- Maintain control over the timely and correct preparation of primary accounting documents, optimize documents workflow
- Automate reporting and accounting processes
- Implement rules and document procedures for collection of information required for consolidated financial statements
- Oversee management accounting
Expected results:
- January – March 2022: successfully submit Russian accounting and tax reports for Q4 of 2021 and for the 2021 year
- January – April 2022: successfully pass Group audit for 2021 without comments in the auditor’s report
- Improve management reporting process – structure clear consolidation and transformation tables
- Propose basic controls for IFRS reporting to ensure accuracy and completeness – checklists, procedures, etc.
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience as a chief accountant, engaged in foreign economic activity; experience in R&D and Skolkovo member companies will be advantageous
- ACCA qualification or equivalent
- Experience in a US public company (SEC reporting); IPO in US will be a plus
- Hands on experience of preparing consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Experience of passing Big-4 audits
- Work experience in Big-4 is a must
- Fluent English
- Excellent command of 1C and automating accounting processes
- Deep knowledge of accounting and tax regulations
- Analytical thinking, good managerial and organizational skills, systematic approach, ability to build interpersonal communication (communicate and explain things in an accessible way), high level of self-organization, ability to take responsibility for results, high tolerance for stress
