- Company is seeking a Government Relations Director to lead and manage inDrive’s strategy for government relations and public policy. In this role, you will build the GR strategy for inDrive Group of Companies, connect and communicate in accordance with the company's ABAC policy with key public audiences, including policymakers, regulators, trade unions, opinion leaders worldwide. You’ll also be managing a geographically diversified GR team for 47 countries of presence and GR Operations
- You will be responsible for tracking legislative and regulatory developments around the company’s businesses and work closely with teams of Business, PR, Product, Social Campaigns Center etc to respond and implement policy strategies, from submitting a persuasive position on a critical issue to convening experts to discuss key developments in inDrive’s sphere of businesses. What are you going to do:
Direction and strategy:
- Outline the vision for Government Relations’ outreach goals, and set high-level objectives to enable the organization and the department to achieve company’s organizational goals
- Develop and implement GR Strategy for inDrive Group of companies
- Devise and implement influential advocacy strategies to protect, promote and bring value to the company
- Lead executive-level discussions on long-term policy direction in alignment with inDrive brand values
- Create and execute licensing strategy for all business verticals of inDrive
- Ensure that all GR communications are according to the company’s ABAC policy
- Support PR team to develop strategies to minimize the possibility of negative press and manage negative stories should they arise, responding where necessary
Execution:
- Function as chief spokesperson of GR & Global communities with authorities and media (executive communications, speeches, panel sessions, presentations at all levels)
- Collaborate with cross-functional global teams to license inDrive business verticals
- Engage with policymakers, industry players, and key opinion formers
- Manage all government affairs activities including coordinating and monitoring legislative initiatives as prioritized by business needs and attending all association meetings as appropriate
- Monitor compliance with the legislation and internal regulations of the company in cooperation with authorities of the Government
- Control on producing and delivering of periodical all-staff newsletter
Management:
- Manage and oversee an established international team of GR including overall management and control on projects, budgets, programmes
- Work closely with the PR and Legal teams on strategic engagement before federal and state legislative and regulatory bodies, and other related constituencies
- Collaborate and communicate with teams including Business Development, Product, PR, Social Campaigns Center and more
- Organize and ensure knowledge sharing between different teams inside the group of company
- Align GR team efforts toward the company's overall objectives (according to the established OKR goals) and manage performance
Company`s wishes:
Basic requirements:
- 10+ years working experience working in a government affairs or public policy role and/or related disciplines required
- Master’s degree in relevant discipline and a minimum of 7 years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline and a minimum of 10 years of experience
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in global companies required
Qualifications:
- Strategic vision, and the ability to innovate, clearly articulate, and successfully translate the strategy into results
- Advanced ability to communicate in writing and in speech to internal and external audiences including policy-makers, press, trade units, associations and the general public
- Overall understanding of the World’s political landscape and how to engage with the authorities
- Proven ability to lead, manage and develop staff in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities and deadline pressures
- Proven stakeholder-management skills, including colleagues, donors, partners, press and policy-makers
- Ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy, sensitivity and tact
- Able to handle highly confidential material and information that could have substantial impact upon the organization
- Excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage a broad portfolio of projects simultaneously
- Crisis management skills
- Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm to support across a wide variety of policy areas
Language & Travel:
- Fluency in English, written and oral. Abilities in a second language preferred (Spanish, Russian, Portuguese etc)
- Able to travel internationally to areas of political/business instability to lead communications with policy makers, associations, trade unions, press
