Japan Tobacco International is searching for a Government Relations Manager.
Requirements:
University Degree in Economy, Tax, Management;
Previous experience in Governmental agencies is highly desirable;
Knowledge of business environment for highly regulated industries (e.g. tobacco, pharmaceutical, alcohol) is desirable. Familiarity with issues faced by multinational corporations operating in Russia (especially tax & fiscal issues);
Good understanding of Russian Legislative & Government decision – making process, macroeconomic issues, federal budget and Russian tax system , etc.;
Excellent interpersonal contact skills, proactive approach, organization & planning skills;
Good financial modelling & PP presentational skills;
Ability to work effectively under time pressure, high self-motivation;
Project management experience is a plus;
Advanced PC user: excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office;
Fluent English (spoken & written).
Job responsibilities:
Identify and develop relevant contacts in Governmental structures;
Be a part of corporate affairs execution via industry associations (Nicotine Alliance, Tobacco Council) and other advocacy associations;
Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory and related Governmental developments;
Monitor and analyze Russian macroeconomic context and economic & tax policy;
Develop relevant positions within the company on excise taxation & fiscal issues, to engage with industry, and deliver positions to the Governmental bodies and other institutions;
Prepare elaborated calculations & presentations on excise tax & fiscal advocacy issues;
Engage with research / expert institutions on tax & fiscal issues (Gaidar Institute, RANGHICS, Higher School of Economics, etc.), ability to plan and implement research / studies / polls results into GR agenda;
To perform other tasks directed by the line manager related to the Departmental activities.
