The Government Relations function at Honeywell is responsible for managing relationships with senior government officials, supporting a positive profile for Honeywell among key stakeholders, advising and advocating for legislative and regulatory policies that support Honeywells business objectives, providing sales support for major contract wins with government customers and state-owned enterprises and enabling relevant tax, grant and incentive benefits that lower costs.
Success within the Government Relations function is measured by priority Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) developed each year in coordination with our Strategic Business Units, High Growth Region leadership and Honeywells CEO. These KPIs are updated quarterly and results are reported to Honeywells senior leadership.
The Director, GR will work directly with the Russia & CU President and local leaders to implement the business growth strategy and support all of Honeywells businesses across Russia/CU.
Key Responsibilities
Create and implement the GR strategy for Russia/CU in support of the regions growth strategy
Protect, maintain and enhance Honeywells profile with government and other relevant stakeholders to support business objectives.
Responsible for identifying and maintaining strategic relationships with key policy makers and engaging them in support of business goals.
Educate and advise senior management on Russia/CU government, priorities and functioning.
Partner with businesses to develop government relations strategies related to specific product initiatives and/or business imperatives.
Serve as subject matter expert on political trends and government policy and their impact on Honeywell and our products to optimize the business opportunities and minimize risks
Secure, prepare, manage business, function and senior executive meetings in Russia/CU including strategic meetings with government officials that support business priorities
Educate Russia/CU government officials on Honeywell, including our offerings, presence and desire to grow in the region, to drive policies, legislation, regulations and decisions toward favorable outcomes
Work with cross-functional team of attorneys, business leaders, customers, and other government relations team members to develop creative solutions that incorporate government relations into business problem solving and risk management
Support legal and compliance teams in ensuring integrity and compliance standards
Manage and participate in relationships with consulting firms and associations, including but not limited to AmCham.
Identify and support opportunities for incentives and other government development programs
YOU MUST HAVE
At least 10-12 years of experience in either a government relations role in a large multi-national company or trade association
Expert knowledge of the Russian government at national, federal and regional levels, how it functions, how to engage effectively to advocate for and protect Honeywells interests
Must be proficient in Russian and English. Other languages are a plus.
Understanding of Russian and international business models and how government relations supports business objectives.
Ability to synthesize complex information from multiple sources, identify and analyze the most relevant points for the specific audience and communicate effectively verbally or through written formats, including PowerPoint and other electronic formats.
Experience in Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan as a plus
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
