Pharmaceutical business SANOFI GENZYME is looking for a General Manager.

 

General Manager Specialty Care Eurasia is in charge of and holds end-to-end accountability for:

  • Defining and executing the strategy and action plans for short- and medium-term sustainable business growth of Sanofi in Eurasia
  • Identifying new business opportunities and planning the optimal level of resource required for maximizing the use of our brands in a competitive environment
  • Driving Specialty Care Eurasia budget and P&L
  • Ensuring operational effectiveness and taking decisions on BU-specific topics
  • Providing leadership to the organization through driving the Play to Win cultural transformation
  • Building a high performing team and developing talents
  • In addition there is a specific duty to self-assess risk for the domain of responsibility, and highlight risks to the n+1 direct manager in a timely manner

 

Key results / accountabilities:

Implementation and achievement of Specialty Care Eurasia strategy:

  • Accountable for overall strategic planning & setting the direction of the managed commercial activities for the GBU across Eurasia countries
  • Responsible for the achievement of the sales and profitability targets of the GBU and for the allocation of resources among the different franchises managed within Eurasia
  • Defining, communicating and implementing Specialty Care Eurasia roadmap
  • Partnering with other GMs and Global Function Heads to maximise any cost efficiency and/or positive commercial opportunities
  • Setting annual & long term stretch targets for team members & managing performance against goals
  • Ensuring team members have the required skills & competencies to do their roles through providing support, coaching, development & mentoring
  • Being active member of the Specialty Care International and China leadership team

Financial performance and market development:

  • Owns full budget and P&L responsibility to propose investment needs and deliver operational effectiveness
  • Ensures marketing & sales force excellence through implementation of systems & processes for optimal targeting, brand differentiation, campaign effectiveness and tracking of KPIs
  • Ensures all support to the local Medical & Regulatory team in order to timely obtain product registrations
  • Develops market access strategic plans together with Medical, Market Access & Public Affairs to define pricing strategies for key institutions
  • Follows up the tenders and sales contracts execution

Company Representation and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Participates to the periodic meetings with external partners and decisions makers (health authorities, agents/distributors, clients, HCPs…)
  • Communicates and coordinates the transversal projects and initiatives with internal stakeholders and Sanofi GBUs
  • Guarantees that all activities, operations and procedures across Sanofi Eurasia as well as local agent/distributors level are carried out in compliance with local regulations and laws

People Leadership:

  • Leads performance management of the team through setting and reviewing priorities. Provides ongoing feedback about performance and coaches team members to help them achieve their goals
  • Supports the professional and career development of the team by identifying the skills and competencies that employees need for their current and prospective roles and provides opportunities to learn and practice new skills
  • Builds a motivated and engaged team through the use of formal and informal recognition, regular communications and the encouragement of cooperation between individuals and teams

Maintain Compliance:

  • Abides by the requirements of the Code of Ethics including but not restricted to maintaining high professional standards of conduct in line with the Company procedure with a duty of care to the reputation of the Company

Ethical Leadership:

  • Takes personal accountability to use personal experience and knowledge, as well as the training and tools provided by Sanofi, to maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all ethics and governance relevant to the role (Sanofi Policies and Procedures and any relevant legal requirements) and demonstrate personal leadership in applying these to all work undertaken
  • Escalates any decisions, or seeks the support of colleagues or management if personal knowledge and understanding is not at the level required to carry out any part of the role

Environmental and Safety Leadership:

  • To care for his/her own safety and wellbeing and the safety of others, and to co-operate with the company to ensure a safe place of work. To comply with Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) related processes and procedures, provide his/her team (if has) complying to these issues and audit them. Employees are therefore expected to:
  • Supports and conforms to Company safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment
  • Reports any accident, incident or near miss, whether it be of personal injury or property damage
  • Assists in the investigation of accidents with the objective of introducing measures to prevent recurrence
  • Thoroughly reads all safety documentation issues by the Company and comply with its requirements. Escalate any doubts or uncertainties to their supervisor and / or manager

 

Skills, experience & knowledge requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably with a science background
  • Proven extensive experience within the Pharmaceutical sector, gained in a range of disciplines including: Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Finance. Experience on Franchise Head or BU General Manger is must (at least 5 years)
  • Knowledge of the key governmental bodies and demonstrated experience of successful interaction (proven results must be provided during the recruitment process)
  • Broad based knowledge of the Sanofi product portfolio and culture, strategies and business models of different market places
  • Ability to integrate patient and customer needs, adapt business models, and coordinate resource deployment across the value chain
  • Experience in forecasting, prioritizing resources, articulating strategic components and executing priorities
  • Experience in working collaboratively with sales/medical/market access teams
  • Marketing knowledge, strategic analysis and planning, project management, excellent English language knowledge (not less than C1 or higher level) and skills (written and oral), IT knowledge and skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), proven project management skills, communication, presentation, persuasion, ability to work cross-functionally
  • Good knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Deep knowledge of countries in scope and key stakeholders’ particularities
  • Good knowledge of policy topics and healthcare environment
  • Speaking Russian is must
  • External stakeholder management

  • Strategic project management
  • Ability to act as a key executive w/ senior presence in developing Sanofi Eurasia image & position in 3rd parties’ perspective
  • Proven leader with natural ability to influence others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to negotiate, communicate, present, persuade and argument among internal teams, KOLs, healthcare decision makers, physicians and patients
  • Experience of managing effective customer consultation including using social media tools in business
