The General Manager for EPK-Brenco Bearing Company is responsible for leading a railway cartridge tapered roller bearing full cycle production, assembly and reconditioning facility located in the Saratov Region of the Russian Federation under a joint venture (JV) between Amsted Rail and the European Bearing Corporation (EPK). The general manager will assume overall responsibility for production and financial performance of JV operations.
To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The following are the end-results and deliverables for which this position is accountable.
- Plan, organize and oversee full cycle bearing production and reconditioning facility, with optimum cost effectiveness to assure all operational goals are effectively met.
- Lead approximately 150 employees in the production of tapered bearing units (TBU’s) according to the established production schedule, sales plan and other key performance indicators.
- Directs timely maintenance of equipment, buildings, and facilities to preserve the assets and to ensure optimum operating efficiency.
- Ensures the plant’s compliance with local, state, and federal (as applicable) regulations in safety, hygiene, environmental and human resource areas. Ensures safe work practices.
- Select, develop, and motivate a competent staff.
- Directs preparation of operating and capital expenditure budgets and operates the plant within said budgets.
- Create and maintain positive morale by facilitating productive and harmonious employee relations among the personnel.
- Works with JV stakeholders and Director of International Operations to establish strategies, goals and objectives to drive the business
Education And Experience
- Advanced degree in business or engineering management (e.g. MBA).
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations. Cross-functional accountability (preferred).
- 3+ years of people management experience.
- Prior global experience preferred to include speaking the Russian language.
