PPD is a leading global contract research organization providing comprehensive, integrated drug development, laboratory and lifecycle management services. Now they are looking for a General Ledger Accountant.
Main responsibilities:
- Oversees accounting operations, actively cooperates with accounting offices and shared service centre
- Supports annual statutory accounts of the legal entities
- Performs analysis of transactional accounting line items and supports decision making
- Analyzes the differences between corporate general ledger and local statutory ledger and reconciles the differences
- Reviews monthly and quarterly VAT declarations
- Conducts accounting reviews, books adjustments and reclassifications needed to comply with local GAAP, group accounting policies and tax laws
- Prepares weekly cash flow reports
- Prepares monthly and quarterly reports and management packs
- Builds customer relationships, consults with business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making, cooperates with corporate legal team.
- Identifies potential process improvements and participates in their implementation
- Prepares communication to local business and finance teams ensuring compliance with company guidelines.
- Actively supports implementation of an accounting system
Key competencies required:
- At least 5+ years of accounting experience (preferably in General Ledger accounting)
- University degree (Accounting, Economics, Finance) or equivalent required
- Very good knowledge of accounting/financial principles.
- Fluent communication skills in English
- Fluent communication skills in Ukrainian or Russian. Knowledge of Bulgarian language will be an advantage
- Advanced business application skills in Microsoft Excel
- Good business acumen with ability to understand complex organizational structures and environments
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
- Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity.
