As the Chief Planning & Orchestration officer for the Area, the FP&A Director owns and is accountable for executing the subsidiary's core finance processes. As the manager/functional lead of the Financial, M&O, and Investment, the FP&A Director is accountable for the end-to-end management of the P&L. As the main Finance partner of the Area M&O Lead [and a key stakeholder of the Area SMO VP], the FP&A Director delivers crisp, timely and challenging business support for the success of the subsidiary and senior leadership team.

Prioritize:
- Leads business analytics and research activities determining present and future financial performance, formulating and evaluating financial plans, economic transactions, and future opportunities. Prepares, summarizes, and drives recommendations
- Leads effort to work with business partners to translate top-down targets to an accountable budget and to generate operational plans and strategy within their organization. Leads annual planning and forecasting processes. Reviews, analyzes, and prepares recommendations for preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. Partners and solicits insight from senior business and commercial stakeholders
- Controllership of Area-wide resources, P&L governance and management. Ensures good allocation and management of local resources to drive growth and shareholder value
- Long-Range planning for the area, connect company-wide strategies to local characteristics
- Partners with senior business and commercial leaders to drive performance and strategy to achieve the best return on investment (ROI) and shareholder return. Gains commitment from stakeholders to align execution and mitigate risk. Guides team to focus on generating actionable business insights to drive profitable growth and shareholder return by being an integral part of the business decision making process. Partners across boundaries to remediate and resolve complex issues
- Applies advanced understanding of Microsoft business, industry, and drivers of shareholder return to ensure senior leaders are presented with the most relevant data, insights, risks, and recommendations necessary to support strategy execution. Leverages business expertise to attract and inspire talent and help others reach their full potential
- Conceptualizes and designs new approaches to how financial data is collected and evaluated to impact the broader organization and Microsoft's long-term goals
- Works with Microsoft experts to identify and leverage advanced tools and technology to aid in achieving greater production, autonomy, and goal attainment. Drives improvements in data management through automation
- Understands the interconnections between data, information, and results and translates this into forward looking narratives and forecasts. Provides clarity and alignment with senior leaders. Implements creative ways to show patterns and draw conclusions to help drive decisions and clearly communicate findings. Generates actionable plans based on complex results, ambiguous findings, and multi-year time horizons. Coaches team to translate data into a simplified and engaging message with actionable insights. Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND proven experience of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
