Gazprom Germania is a subsidiary of the world’s largest natural gas producer, Gazprom. Gazprom is looking for a Finance Governance and Transformation Advisor. The Finance Governance and Transformation (FGT) team’s core objective is to support the Group CFO, entity Finance Directors and the Finance Leadership Team in realising the GPG Group Finance Vision.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be working with colleagues within the Finance department and across the business to:
Drive the continuous improvement agenda for Finance, Treasury and Tax focusing on system change and process enhancement as well as providing expertise, co-ordination and delivery of key projects and change management initiatives
Define and maintain minimum standards for control and governance of core Finance, Treasury and Tax processes and bring the organisation into line with those standards, including through ongoing monitoring and reporting
Act as a conduit between IT, Tax, Treasury, Product Control, HR, Risk and Finance for the provision of specialist advice and the development of a shared back office strategy
Support the delivery of a consistent approach to the assessment and prioritisation of departmental change (IT and Non-IT) requirements

Willing to focus on the details and do the ‘heavy lifting’ when required but also capable of seeing the big picture
Capable of analysing large sets of data, troubleshooting issues and asking the right questions. Strong grasp of the role of data governance and the importance of the data model to the Finance function
Expert Excel user, VBA, SQL, SAP BW/SAC and data analytics experience are all pluses
Confident and clear communicator, with ability to adapt style appropriately for all levels of seniority.
Able to distil complex concepts logically and communicate both verbally and in written form. Proven track record of delivering change. Expert PowerPoint user
Experience:
Experience in operating, implementing and/or improving one or more of the below. Knowledge of leading practice systems, processes and controls to support the below in the context of a commodity trading firm is a plus:
Treasury Operations: Payment authorisations & liquidity management
Financial Reporting: IFRS / GAAP interpretation and implementation, booking policy, general ledger ownership, financial consolidation and management reporting
Financial Control: Activities aimed at providing assurance that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled
Management Accounting: Budgeting, forecasting, business partnering and performance reporting
Compliance: Activities related to meeting the requirements of governmental and other regulatory bodies including tax compliance and statutory reporting.
Experience of working in (or consulting to) a commodity trading firm or a bank. Understanding of the deal lifecycle and experience working with trading systems and knowledge of commodity markets are all pluses
Experience in delivering systems implementation projects, understanding of the Agile delivery methodology and ability to work with IT to translate business requirements into delivered solutions. Working knowledge of SAP is a plus
Knowledge of the role of risk, control and assurance for a Finance function. Understanding the three lines of defence model and the practicalities of designing, implementing and monitoring a financial controls framework
Education:
Degree level qualification within a numerate or scientific discipline preferred, but appropriate industry experience and delivery track record is as important
Qualified Accountant is a plus (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
Fluent in English (other languages, especially Russian and German, would be an advantage).
