His/her main duties include persuading buyers to buy company's products:
- Communicating with buyers regarding new queries and updates
- Planning for new season’s sampling and production orders
- Submission of samples to the buyers and communicating for further action
- Follow up with buyers for approvals and feedback
- Update the buyers with the order status at all stages
- Visit to buyer’s site /premises time to time
- Sourcing of new samples/ materials for new development
- Making sales presentations and representing the company in a market
- Maintaining files and Accounts for all the buyers
- Regularly updating Time and Action calendar
- Follow up for timely payments
- Service existing accounts, obtaining orders and establishing new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential buyers
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
- Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
- Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management
- Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales
