An online retailer with double digit yearly growth numbers is looking for an Editor-In-Chief.

 

Job Description — Editor- In-Chief
All work is in English exclusively. Fluent English is a requirement.
The Content Editor is responsible for copy editing and proofreading English content to help ensure the high linguistic quality and consistency.
Following established processes, candidate edits and proofreads assigned documents, prior to publication. Documents include a variety of texts intended for various audiences, such as deep service / product pages, media releases, research and technical reports, educational materials, websites, online applications and promotional materials.

 

Responsibilities
Ensuring accuracy and relevancy of copy while ensuring writers are producing engaging, and at times, personalized content for target audiences.
Edits documents prior to publication for spelling, punctuation, grammar, readability, flow, consistency, etc.
Proofreads text and visuals prior to publication for typos, formatting errors, etc.
Discusses with authors changes to meaning or other substantial changes.
Participates in and contributes to meetings within the organization.
Managing internal and external writers through the different stages of content creation.
Assists with the development and maintenance of a digital editorial calendar, including internal and external campaigns.
Planning/organizing—content editor prioritizes and plans team work activities and uses time efficiently. Multi-tasking and managing content production — creation, scheduling and publication.
Communicates clearly and efficiently with team members across the globe.

 

Requirements
Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with a wide variety of content (e.g., health care, construction, financial services, internal business communications, proposals, RFPs, PowerPoint presentations, conference presentations, press releases, marketing communications, etc.)
Outstanding copywriting and editing skills
Proven ability to author clear, concise, and customer-focused content
Exceptional grammar, communication and writing skills across all forms of media
Experience with WordPress is preferred but not required
Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.

 

Qualifications / Experience
Fluent English
Bachelor’s degree (Preferably in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or English)
5+ years of experience writing and editing marketing content
Excellent writing skills; an ideal candidate is capable of writing creative, clean and polished content
Good communication skills; an ideal candidate boasts excellent written and oral communication skills and works well in a team environment
Capable of providing a portfolio of recent writing samples and producing a sample assignments similar to our typical content requirements

 

Job Advantages / Salary
100% Remote work, work on your own schedule (several hours overlap with EST timezone is required)
Paid 10 days vacation + national holidays (limited to 5 calendar days per year)
The final Salary is discussed with the successful Candidate.
